We reached it walking (climbing) from Gellert Hill. It took us something like half an hour. The view from the top (near the Liberty Statue) on the Pest is remarkable. This is the best place to take your panoramic photos.

“Amazing view from the resteraunt.”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

Stopped here during our bus tour on the green buses and were invited in as part of the tour for free goulash soup, however all 9 of us planned to stay for dinner which was the best food ever, and we would highly recommend, despite being pricey by Budapest standards, but a third of what you would pay anywhere else in the world at least, for the same standard, food, service atmosphere and an incredible memorable view across the Danube towards parliament and beyond. (Seperate review for resteraunt).
The view is spectacular, especially as our stay turned from day to night with the most amazing display of lights in the city.
There are a few stalls outside where the bus stops for 15 mins. We didnt get to them and they had cleared up once the bus tours were over.
We all walked down the side paths at night and the view was awesome of the other side of the Danube, however it was an unlit path with a few uneven sections and stairs which creeped up on you.

“Breathtaking views.. You must go!!! ”
Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

When researching Budapest and the places to visit we did not see anything about the Citadella but was recommended by a taxi driver.

We visited after dinner for a relaxing walk and to see the views, this by far was a highlight to our Holiday. You are able to see for miles over the bustling city!
Highly recommended!!!!!!
