We walked up one of the many paths up the hill. Great views as you get higher and even better 360 degree views at the top. Best of all, you can do it for free!

If you visit Budapest this is a must see location! i strongly advise that you should go there before the sunset and see both day and night. The panaromic view is amazing. There is also a restaurant but it is fully booked so we could not get in.But if you want to see all Budapest in just one scene thats the perfect spot you sholud go!

This is a review of the citadel at the top of Gellert Hill, not the hilltop itself, with views of Budapest. The citadel charge is 1,200 Forint, for which you get access to the Nazi bunker, replete with unconvincing wax dummies and replica historical items, such as wooden hand grenades and a few Nazi pamplets. The views are no better from the citadel than from the street below. The reception from the staff was more depressing than the bunker itself.

get your camera ready, have some photographs for the citadella walls, and then have "a lot" of shots for the beautiful view on the hill.

Before visiting Budapest , I read that Citadel will not be much interesting somewhere as this is also in the Buda side along with Buda Castle , but I insisted to go there and I was right.
Ideal time would be how we went , at afternoon , then stay there till evening , so that one can see the city lights are slowly coming up and then entire city enlightened and shining .
All the bridges can be viewed and this is more high than the castle , also so many view points in way to climb up and down to enjoy , the best view point for Liberty bridge is Citadel .
Not very stiff to climb and places to sit and take rest in between , there are more seats and to see on the top and if you have time , go beyond the big status to take a look .
Very nice and peaceful place to enjoy .
