“Different trip - was it worth it?”

Our son recommended the trip to momento park. Whilst pleased we did this trip out, the high light was working out how to get there. Not as many statues as we thought.

Hope the dot points help to get there.

b./ From the Volánbusz terminus next to Kelenföldi PU. - Kelenföldi Railway Station - (bus No 7E, 173E, tram No 19, 49) by bus No 710, 720, 721 or 722 leaving from the to the Memento Park stop.

“Unsafe Direct Bus- BUS CRASH”
Reviewed August 3, 2013 via mobile

On the way to Memento Park it was clear that our driver was incompetent. By the time we arrived we had had several near misses and Dora, our so-called tour guide promised a new driver for the return trip. This of course did not happen and the driver drove straight into oncoming traffic when leaving the park.

Dora was no longer with us on the bus, it seemed her job was only to press play on an informative cd that we could not hear over the rattle of the bus, and collect our money.

Again more unsafe driving and a crash, and we are expected to get back on! Same driver then runs a red light and eventually admits defeat and pulls over. A new bus driver arrives to drive the same smashed bus back to the city.

As for the park itself, it is average. If you must go, take the public bus, do not risk your life on the expensive and UNSAFE direct bus.

We are sincerely sorry and apologize for your recent negative experience on our direct bus. We have a yearly contract with a bus service company and we have forwarded your complaint to the company and demanded an explanation on why they provided us with a non skilled unprofessional driver on the day of your visit, alongside with the fact that we refuse to cooperate with this driver ever again.
We are truly sorry again but can assure you that we have not received any complaints about our direct bus service in the past and Dora the guide did her best to provide you with a new driver on your return journey but the bus company was unable to help us out.

“Communist statues”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

It was neat, but that was all. Took a few pictures, took a moment to think about how this government ruled, and went on with the day. It is a neat side trip from Budapest, especially if you are interested in the communist era of Europe. I was expecting a little bit more, maybe a few more statues, but it was still a neat experience.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

We took a tram followed by a bus to get from city centre to Memento park and the trip took about an hour. The park was very unlike anything I have ever seen before, hard to explain but surreal. There is not much shade up there so if you are going to visit in the heat of the day then make sure you bring plenty water / suncream etc.
