Go there during daytime, walk on the wonderful Andrassy blvd, that end there. Then continue to the Szechenyi baths and the City park.

“Impressive square”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The Heroes' Square is very impressive and great for some lovely holiday photos. Worth visiting along with the park behind which has the famous baths, and also a zoo and a fair. There is a flea market in the park also which is bustling and full of bargains but be prepared to rummage to find those gems!

“Place to start journey in Budapest”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

If you're in Budapest for the first time this is the place where you should start your journey. Heroes' Square is one of the biggest squares, and apart from its size it has so many attractions nearby. When you arrive at the Square don't miss visiting Museum of Fine Arts and Art Gallery to indulge your artistic interests. There is also Zoo, Vidampark and Circus for entertainment. Walk through the green fields of the park behind the Square and you will get to the Museum of transportation. And after a long day around Heroes' Square you should spend the evening at Szechenyi Termal Bath, of course if you can afford it because it's not very cheap.

“A monumental piece of history”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The hero square comprises the monumental sculptures of all Hungarian leaders, from the settlement of the Hungarian people into the Pannonian planes until the Hungarian revolution in 1848. Under each statue there is a relief depicting some of the important scenes from the rulers' lives, each with an adequate description (though without English translation, unfortunately). Whether you are a history buff, an art admirer or just keen on a pleasant walk on a large square (or perhaps, on your way to the city park), you will enjoy the Heroes square.

“Worth a Visit!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

A quiet park like setting in back of statues. There is a small castle, benches to sit and have a snack, and the famous baths:)
