This Square is monumental, full of statues that resembles Hungarian History.

The place is great to visit both on daylight and nighttime, since it has an amazingly well placed lighting system.

It is a wonderful experience to see it lit up at night against a blue sky. There are statues of all those who helped Hungary become free over many different time periods.

Walked from town, a lovely long avenue which opens out onto this impressive site. Flanked by imposing museums at either side too.

This vast square at the top of Andrassy Avenue (pretty much the Champs Elysee of Budapest) has statues representing 14 of the early kings of Hungary as well as the mounted horsemen representing the leaders of the seven tribes who came to settle their people here in 896AD. The statues were a major part of the 1896 first millennium celebration of the founding of the country that became Hungary and have enormous national identity and political implications to this day.

This splendid square in Budapest boasts some magnificent statues and glorious columns. It is wonderful to admire, especially lit up at night.
