“Heroes Square and Szechenyi Baths”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Monday is a great day to see heroes Square as everything else is closed. The square consists of four arcs of columns displaying all the good kings. The bad are not remembered. Off course you will see more on other days. After the square we walked to the Szechenyi baths, a few minutes walk. It is a huge complex of historical buildings, and if it isn't Monday you can have a thermal bath.It was wet, and Monday, when we went so we almost had the place to ourselves. You can walk or take the metro. We walked there so as to see the opera house and all the historic buildings on the way, but came back on the metro. Local transport is very cheap.

“Look behind”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Heroes' Square offers a look into the proud history of Hungarian people and you can see all their most important historical figures there. Surrounding the square are museums and just behind it is an awesome castle and a beautiful spa. If you are with kids there is also a zoo nearby :) It is easy to get there - just jump on the yellow line and you will be there in 10 or so minutes.

“Prepare your camera ;)”

Lots of very nice sculptures to take pictures. You better read about the composition and background story to understand about them. 2 art museums at both sides. Very near to the thermal bath and zoo. A must at Budapest.

Heroes' Square is a beautiful monument, and definitely worth a visit. While you are there, you can take a walk through the City Park.

“Heroes Square”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

This is worth a visit. Very large open space with impressive statues and monuments, and the unnamed Hero's grave. There was a protest at the time of our visit, but not many people.
