The chain bridge is a must for a first time visitor to Budapest like me and I suggest you walk across the bridge to get the full experience of the city.
Apparently the iron chains, on which the road-bed hangs, are held by two 48-meter river piers in classicist style. From here comes the name "Chain Bridge".
The portals are decorated with lionhead-shaped capstones and the coat of arms of Hungary with the crown and a wreath of leaves.
The weather and ambiance nearing sunset are lovely and it is so stunning to see the view of both Buda and Pest.
Be careful of the bicycle lane though as you walk to the bridge.
