“Pretty cool and amazing views”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

We purposely chose a hotel overlooking the chain bridge, and it was very pretty. A great area and good to be near both Buda & Pest sides of the river.

Having been to the amazing Charles Bridge in Prague, I thought this may be similar but unfortunately it is not pedestrian, but is actually open to traffic & has a lot of car use.

Great area & lovely view none the less!

“Fine art of bridges”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Chain Bridge from Budapest is a gorgeous bridge made with good taste in the 1800's.
The decorative lions on the 4 sides gives you the chance to take funny and memoriable pictures! :)
Enjoy!

As others have said, a massive part of Budapest's history.

A great photo opportunity.
I must go back with the tripod after dark!

“Lyons without tongue”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The oldest bridge of Budapest guarded by 4 stone lyons.... without tonge.
As a local joke: kids are often told, that lyons are pulled in the Buda side tunnel when it is raining..
Walk through from Buda to Pest, enjoy view of Danube and feel the scent of Hungarian history...

The two cities (Buda and Pest) only united in 1873. The bridge II. World War II, the Germans blew up. In 1832, a study in England built a miniature of the bridge (bridge MARLOW). The bridge is the most beautiful bridge when it is lit at nights.
