A stroll across the Chain bridge is a must when you visit Budapest. Make sure you do it at night and in the day, so many different photo opportunities!!!! We walked across quite a few times. But beware when you look down along the bank you may see a man or two doing #2 out in the open....I did! Mamma Mia..... gibsonchop.com

As featured in so many Budapest pictures, the Széchenyi Chain Bridge is one of the must-see landmarks of the city. Take the time to walk over to the other side, enjoy the view, and feel the vibrations of the passing traffic. Even better at night, heavily lit, not a single light was broken at our time of visit.

It's almost impossible to not see the Chain Bridge at some point during your visit to Budapest, so don't allot a lot of extra time to visit this attraction. Take a few pictures, walk across it, and continue on your way!

If you walk only one of the bridges make sure its this one. As one of the two surviving bridges from british engineer xxx this takes you back to the golden age of british engineering. We stayed on the buda side and so used this bridge a number of times. Visiting any of the historic museums will provide you with the chance to see pictures of this bridge destroyed during WWII. Looking at it today you would never know.

We crossed this bridge twice on Valentin's eve , and truly although it's just a bridge, it is a very romantic one. But make sure you cross it when it's dark to get the right impression. There was not a lot of trafic, the bridge is lit with thousands of bulbs and there is a safe walkway on both sides and very few tourists on them. Crossing the bridge takes around 10 minutes.
Definately worth if your hotel is within walking distance.
