“Here you can find the Hungarian Academy of Sciences”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Beautiful square at the Lanchid (Chain Bridge). Here you can find the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Nearby you can get up to tram 2, which go the Danube coast, which include the World Heritage list. Also the 16 bus stop is there. With this bus you can get to the Buda Castle and / or the Deak Square, which is not far from Vaci utca, the most popular pedestrian street in Budapest.

“Ok”

The best part of the square is the view to the river. Otherwise it's a simple square in Budapest. Nothing extraordinary to see

“Roosevelt Square Budapest”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

Roosevelt Square is a busy intersection in downtown Budapest, near the Basilica of St. Istvan. There are some beautiful buildings surrounding the Square, such as the Gresham Palace Hotel, and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, not to mention the Szechenyi Chain Bridge. Crossing the Chain Bridge to head over to Buda or up to Castle Hill is a must, and seeing these gorgeous buildings in the Square is also a must. It's just too bad that it's such a busy area of town with few crosswalks, cars zipping by paying little or no attention to pedestrians, and a big ugly casino flanking one side of the square. While crossing the bridge on foot is a must, and while seeing buildings like the Gresham Palace is also a must, it's not the most pedestrian or photo-friendly part of town. Plan on having to dodge crazy drivers and take in the sights while trying not to get run over. :)

“Excellent view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2012

This square which is currently called Széchenyi square (Széchenyi tér) is an exclusive square in the middle of this city. It's right at the Chain Bridge and the view of the Castle of Buda is just amazing (especially at night).
