“Interesting building, tour too short”
Reviewed April 8, 2014 via mobile

The building itself was really impressive but the tour was not very long and we only got to see a few areas. Sometimes it was hard to hear the guide also because other groups were often in the same room.

The Parliament building was undoubtedly the most stunning interior I saw during my week-long stay in Budapest. We kept marveling at how anybody is able to concentrate on politics inside, as we'd just be staring at the architecture. The Hungarian Crown Jewels are also found here and are beautiful! The tour was highly informative, and actually gave us good information that we were able to use throughout our visit in Budapest, so I'm very glad we went early in the trip! The price can be a bit high for adults (half-off for students under 26), but worth every cent. Reserve a tour in advance or show up at 8am, wait in line for an hour, and hope and pray you get lucky and get in that day (as we had to). MUCH better to reserve in advance.

“An interesting and informative visit.”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

The Parliament building is a beautiful Neo-Gothic building finished in 1902. On the banks of the Danube it stands out in its magnificence. The building was inspired by London's Houses of Parliament and is certainly worth a visit. We took a guided tour in English, during which we learnt a great deal about the Parliament past and present and were able to take pictures in most areas apart form where the closely guarded Crown Jewels are on display. A truly beautiful building and well worth a visit. Tours are at 10.00, 12.00 and 14.00 hrs. Check where tickets need to be purchased and bring proof that you are an E.U. Citizen for reduced rates.

“Lovely building”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

This is a lovely building, only saw the outside as we were pushed for time, watched the change of the guard, and their feet must be sore with their slapping the feet marching. Defiantly worth seeing the parliament building.

If only all governments made their houses of parliament look like this. It is absolutely beautiful and great for tourists and they're love for picture taking. It's a must do in Budapest.
