Owner description: The domed neo-Gothic structre was inspired by the British House of Parliament and serves as both a vibrant government center and a proud city landmark on the banks of the Danube.

Hungarian Parliament is one of the most beautyful buildings in the World. You can go in - with guided tours. I had attended one tour and it's very interesting I cannot describe the beauty of the building itself, it's - in my opinion - undescribable. Of course, when you come to Budapest, you will come and see it - it simply cannot be missed, like the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle.

Me and my partner took a long walk around the parliament building, it's beautiful in its stature, being renovated at the time and being totally cleaned up, in the evening all lit up and looks stunning on the Danube

A dream of mine was seeing the Hungarian Parliament at night, with its gothic grandeur and lights reflecting on the Danube. I was lucky enough to see this building at all times of the day and each time it was more beautiful than the next. We didn't book online for tickets to see inside (and the line up was huge!) but the outside is a masterpiece in itself. A great way to see it is from across on Castle Hill on the Buda side, or via tram #4 or #6. This tram takes you across the Danube and you can see the building from here as well. It is stunning and grand and elegant and imposing all at once. Take your time here to enjoy it.

Really wanted to take the free guided tour (both have EU passports). Info on website incorrect for tour times in English. Complicated and long system to access and get tickets. Very disappointing. Recommend getting tickets in advance and double checking time of tour in your language. Also, it can be confusing where to actually get in to the building! There is a car park with a low chain roping the area off. On the right hand side of the car park/building, there is a small signpost and should be two guards who will hopefully point you in the right direction!

In a cold and windy winter day , after some minutes of queuing to be able to buy the entrance
ticket, we were allowed by the security guards to go into the small office on the right wing of the building to buy them.
There are 2 types of fees , for non EU citizens (3500 HUF) or for EU citizens (1750 HUF) ID required.
We joined an english speaking group (more than 50 persons) and the guide spoke good english. The building from inside is imposant and the tour itself is worth that money.
A great view of the Parliament building can be seen from Buda side and depending on the weather either from the palace, St. Stephen church or just from across the blue Donau where specially at night and with the help of an stativ you can get great shots !!
Enjoy the city
