“The Central Synagogue is an Overwhelming Experience!”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

The Great or Central Synagogue is the 2nd largest in the world, 2nd only to the Synagogue of New York. If you visit the Great Synagogue of Budapest be certain to include the guided tour as part of your visit.

“Very knowledgable!”
Reviewed November 8, 2012 via mobile

Very knowledgable guide. Would highly recommend a visit here. The building is beautiful. Loads of places to eat around here too. English guided tours every 30 mins until 3:30.

“More than a memorial”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Europe's biggest synagogue is a very beautiful building and the sombre memorial garden and silver willow are testament to the once-thriving community who built it and that community's - and mankind's - devastating loss. However, I was also touched by the fact that this is still the centre of a very much active community today.

“Different and nice”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

I would recommend taking a guided tour since there is so much history as to why the Synagogue was built almost resembling a church. Visit the heritage museum which has a lot of scrolls and pictures and artifacts on display.
