This is a must see while in Budapest. Church is beautiful inside as are many of the churches along the Danube.

Paid entry.the altar and the roof is very beautiful and the glass mosaic on the back the church hough small is beautiful. You can spend 10 minutes in the church.
Please be silent to enjoy the beauty and to respect the religious sentiments.

Enjoyed looking around the interior of the impressive medieval Matthias Church. There are lovely frescos decorating the walls and pillars and the sandstone pulpit is worth a closer look.

My wife and I were here on a tour with Gate1. This church is very stunning, esp. with that roof, and the Fisherman's Bastion around it. It's just a great area to wander around and look.
When you walk up the hill and round the corner, you will see the church completely and it is beautiful.

FYI: I hate to part w/my camera after all these years, but it's not taking indoor photos as well as it used to ... sorry

Richly decorated, painted walls, columns, every surface. Beautiful Art Nouveau angels and images of knights and kings.

Although I did not go inside, I was impressed by this beautiful building and unusual brightly coloured roof.

The mosaic work on both the outside and inside of the church has to be seen to be believed. Just beautiful.

Find time to explore the museum, so very old artefacts demonstrating just how long there has been worship on this site. It also takes you up inside the church and gives amazing view of the nave and chancel.

Just when you think you’ve seen every beautiful church in Europe you arrive in Budapest and visit this church. Make sure that you walk around the elevated viewing area. The sight of the city below is breath taking.
