“Really the best part of Budapest”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

This area is so lovely with the little shops and streets. the area is very touristy but the views and history make up for it. We hired a taxi driver who could enter the castle walls and could speak good English. I think this was better than the tour buses Taxis are very reasonable.

“Should be beautiful, but under reconstruction for too long time now.”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

Nice, must be visited, but only by foot. The streets are always under work, which is not helping a lot. Enjoy the nice views from the Fishermen's Bastion towards Pest (Eastern part of the city), or visit the Royal palace (the king never lived here). Some other attractions also available, but you can find the same almost everywhere. Try the underground hospital.
Avoid being hungry from Mathias church to the Royal Palace... restaurants are especially for tourists!

“Fantastic architecture”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

The views from Castle Hill and the architecture of the Buda Castle are amazing. The interiors, unfortunately, didn't survive the World War II, which left the palace in ruins. They were rebuit in an austere and modern fashion, very unnecessary to visit in my opinion. One of the buildings holds the Hungarian National Gallery, which I didn't find very interesting. So just take your time walking around it and enjoying the view!

“Nicest castle ever”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

I immediately visited Buda Castle when I came Budapest, because my friends recommended me to check it first. It has great view to Duna and Pest side, especially during sunset.
