“not very interesting”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

unless you are religious and like looking at very unhappy looking baby jesus and mother paintings then this is not going to be of much interest to you the inside of the castle is modern mostly and the permanant art exhibition was as described there are better museums to be visited nearby so I found it was a waste of my time and money

“Impressive architecture & history”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

Buda Castle stands impressively above the Danube, this is the perfect photo opportunity, fantastic architecture and history to match, take time out to wander and explore, have a drink at the Cafe which overlooks the Danube and views that stretch for miles. Places like this, some kind of guide or guide book is essential.
Access via the funicular railway 1700 HUF return (adult) or walk up the meandering path

Again toilet facilities are not free, charge was 1 Euro

“great views from the castle a must see in Budapest”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

The castle is beautiful and a great place to enjoy the views. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants on the hill, just enjoy at a relaxed pace, take a camera and get lots of pictures, especially panorama pictures :)

“Buda Castle”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Wherever you are along the Danube the Castle stands out prominently offering fanatastic photo opportuinities both day and night. We walked up the hill approaching it from Chain Bridge and decided not to the take the funicular because the views from each level are different and well worth doing. When at the top you can visit the museum (we didn't) but then you can walk around the palace and see fabulous views of of Buda and Pest from many different locations. After the castle then only a short walk to Fisherman's Bastion.

Great place to take shots and take in the beauty of the castle and its surroundings. The views of Budapest from here is breathtaking to say the least.
