Very impressive area, this definitely had an impact. Fantastic at night lit up, you can appreciate the grandeur of the time when it was built

Spent the afternoon here after a Budapest walking tour. An absolute wealth of history and architecture to take in. Lots to see and absorb and plenty of photo opportunities. Fabulous views of Pest and the Danube - I could have spent all day looking! Lots of places to stop for food or a drink and just enjoy Buda. Do not miss this.

Went into the museum by via the bottom entrance, was very quaint at first, we took extra time with the exhibits as we thought it was small. Got upstairs and the whole history of Hungary was there!! Definitely worth a visit, I recommend a break at the cafe half way through, lovely cakes.

Nice walk around the castle and ruins. Took the free escalator up and paid for the cute tram cars down. The views of the city are very good form this vantage point.

You can get up here by taking the short funicular trip, or just enjoy the walk if you are able to. We walked up from the Chain Bridge end and came down at the Vienna Gate end.
Although the attractions do not open until 10am, you can walk around at any time and avoid the peak crowds. Some great views of the city, but mornings can be a bit misty in November.

Imposing position on Pest overlooking the danube and the town. We first saw the castle on the night bus tour then visited again in ddaylight. You need to be there befre 12:00 to see the changing of the guard

The Castle Hill with the Buda Castle, Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion, Buda Tower and old town is a must for any tourist! But there is so much to see, you actually need two days to fully enjoy this magnificent site! We went early the morning, took the castle bus tour up, the funicular was not running the morning, would definitely want to use this next time! Beautiful different sites and panoramic views, cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops a small city, this is MUST!!

Arriving to Budapest, the first thing to visit is the Castle Hill. The castle hill is on the Buda side of the Danube nearly at the banks. It is the old part of Buda. Here you can find the National Gallery, which was originally the KIng's Palace. Next is the Fishermen's Bastion and St. Stephen's Dome. From these places you have a wonderful view for the Pest side. You will find a lot of restaurants too. If you go to the other side of the Castle hill, you will be facing the Buda part of the city. Fantastic views, memories. Must visit.

Lovely to see our up at night.

We walked up during the day but you can take a paid elevator.

Stunning panaronic views over Pest.

Cafes etc and absolutely worth visiting. When up take a wander through the upper level of Buda old town lots of restaurants too.

Most of castle is free but you pay a small fee to see inside and museums.

There is public toilets at the back of the castle near where coaches stop.
