Owner description: Lovingly restored after being reduced to rubble during World War II, this picturesque area is located in the heart of medieval Budapest, which is characterized by cobblestone streets, narrow alleys and lovely squares surrounded by baroque and classical buildings.

Came up here with a walking tour and it has nice views of the city as well as some nice little shops to check out and some great architecture too. I highly recommend walking up rather then taking the funicular. By the time you buy the overpriced ticket and wait for it you'll already be up at the top, it's a short, unchallenging walk up.

Take a taxi and have the driver wait. The view is worth the cost. Try and get there at sunset for a fantastic view of Pest.

We went to the top of the hill on the vurnicular and the views were great. It was a colder, overcast day, but still offered a very picturesque scene. There are some other sights to see if you walk around the area, but the best part for us was definitely the view.

We walked around Castle Hill for the better part of a day. Lots of shops and restaurants to visit, plus Matthias Church and other cultural buildings on the hill too.

You can either ride the funicular up the hill or take the path/steps. We took the steps and it wasn't that bad. Benches and flatter parts to help you catch your breath if needed.

A must-see in Budapest.

This is wonderful place to spend a half a day. The views are magnificent and it is so pleasant to walk around the area visiting the shops and taking everthing in all around. You can also visit museums or have a meal in a number of the restaurants. There is much to do and it is not be missed.
