Owner description: Lovingly restored after being reduced to rubble during World War II, this picturesque area is located in the heart of medieval Budapest, which is characterized by cobblestone streets, narrow alleys and lovely squares surrounded by baroque and classical buildings.

There are 3 ways to get up the hill, by walking, taking bus or funicular. The funicular costs around 1100 Forint. Personally, i think the funicular does not worth the money because the funicular ride is less than 1 minute. If you happen to have a ticket for public transport, bus 16 will take you up the hill and stop right in front of the Fisherman Bastion. Walking up the hill took us only 10 minutes (to be fair, we were more like jogging than walking) and if you are travelling in a limited budget, walking is an ideal way to get up the hill. The view from the top of the hill is amazing. You will be able to see the Pest (eastern side of Danube). Watching Budapest from Castle Hill during night time is indescribable.

if you are into old buildings, and great food, and amazing view don't miss this place, we were there for half a day, it's very easy to get there by public transportation, there is nice local restaurant down the road when you go back.

It was really nice to go there, then you take the fantastic view of Pest side and surrounding on the Danube.

After a walk across the chain bridge, and a little hike up the side of the hill, a long leisurely stroll in Castle Hill was just what I needed. We found a nice cafe and toasted each other while enjoying the view of the Danube and Parliament. Its nice to get a chance to survey all around you. Not something to skip. It is possible to take a funicular up if you don't want or cannot walk.

One thing about this place that is absolutely amazing is the view of Budapest and the Danube ! Also, all the castles there have amazing roofs. When I went there, there was also a man that was carrying a hawk that you could touch and take pictures with. It was really nice and definitely worth seeing!
