Owner description: Lovingly restored after being reduced to rubble during World War II, this picturesque area is located in the heart of medieval Budapest, which is characterized by cobblestone streets, narrow alleys and lovely squares surrounded by baroque and classical buildings.

“Castle Hill in the snow and sun”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

Fascinating place, especially as the light was fluctuating between sun and laden with snow, dramatic effect. Seemed cleaner than central Budapest, but public toilets could have been better considering we had to pay!

“Much more exciting than expected”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Just don't walk up it. We did it twice and our feet are still hurting. But very beautiful. Much better than tour books (e.g. Rick Steves) said it would be.

“Castle Hill--great place to walk around even in snow”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is a great place to walk around, even in the snow, although can be icy in places. Really enjoyed the hot mulled wine. Very walkable, and not too crowded with tourists on a cold winter day.

“Beautiful, photogenic and historic”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

You can get to it by bus if you don't want to walk. Lots of coffee shops and historic buildings to keep you busy all day.

“Do the package”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

It is very close to Faust wine cellar. So the best is to go there around 10 am, visit the wine cellar at 11:30 and end it with a fabulous lunch in the close by restaurants.
