I is crowded during daytime , but when the night comes it reveals it's true beauty especially when you see it from the river.

“Castle Hill and historical buildings”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Historic buildings, the Royal Palace, Fisherman's Bastion and some very good restaurants in that area. Too many little souvenir shops. Some very interesting statues are in the area, a tram (number 16 and 16 a, I believe) that goes through the area is easy to use if you have the tickets bought ahead of time....a few days in Budapest will allow you to know how to use the trams which are convenient for traveling longer distances, and going from Buda to Pest more easily. The old Matthias Church was being renovated when we were there, the crowds were thick so it was frustrating, but it is definitely worth a visit.
You can take the funicular down to the Danube, and cross the Chain Bridge to go to Pest, where there is a huge market inside a building, with excellent rates on their paprika, tons of food items and great souvenir gifts.

“Fantastic views”

Wonderful historical place, but it was crowded when I was there. I found it was a bit hard to get there from Pest side.

“Great Views”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

A visit to Budapest is incomplete without a trip (great place to start an itinerary actually) to castle Hill. There are no shortage of icons on the Hill and indeed you could spend the better part of the day up there and not be bored. But the view down over Pest is pretty special on a clear day - and yes they do happen regularly in Budapest.

There are lots of small restaurants serving food and snacks (sometimes at moderately inflated prices - but this is a tourist district) and no shortage of venues just to chill-out and relax!

“Really Nice”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

We went here as part of our tour with the Free Budapest Walking tour. It was a really nice area and offered a beautiful view of the city. Didn't go inside the castle but had a nice look around outside.
