Take the finicular return journey. Great area to walk through and take a coffee at one of the many cafes around the area.

“We enjoyed Castle Hill”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

We generally visit art museums where ever we go and have seen many of the paintings featured in art history or humanities books. It was very interesting to visit a museum to see artwork that I had never encountered in print before. My experience tells me that most art history and humanities courses completely neglect Central Europe in favor of Western Europe. I completely enjoyed the insights I got into Hungarian history and culture through the art. Also this museum has an extensive and wonderful collection of medieval altar pieces that are a joy to view.

Also on Castle Hill, of course, are many other sights: Saint Mattias, the Fishermen's Bastion, and the 18th and 19th century "neighborhoods." There are many souvenir shops up there; it's a popular tourist attraction.

“Tourist destination”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

This was a real tourist destination. Fortunately we decided to spend time in the History Museum which was amazingly interesting, especially the parts they excavated which date back to the 1300s.
