As everyone says, a fantastic location: a lively area and easy walking to the river Danube and all the main sights. Can't fault the service and friendliness of the staff right from arrival to departure, which helped to make our stay here for a family wedding so enjoyable. Our room was always clean, comfy and spacious and we enjoyed the good breakfast. It is well worth getting a privilege room because we so enjoyed the use of the privilege lounge, which provided snacks and drinks just when we returned from our excursions. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Choose a privilege room - it's well worth it

close to many scenic locations, however no views are available from hotel. Well price and good service. Unlike other comments, hotel staff are very helpful and polite. I ranked hotel as 'average' simply for the lack of a swimming pool and gym.

We were so pleased that we booked this hotel for our stay in Budapest. Excellent location and within walking distance of all of the major sites. We paid extra and booked a privilege room which we felt was well worth it as it gave access to the privilege room were drinks and snacks were available. It also enabled us to keep our room until 4pm on departure day without any extra cost. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend using the airport minibus for transfer to and from the hotel.

We satyed here in July for two nights and booked through hotels.com. Hotel is located on the pedestrial street next to restaurants and shops but was still accessible with the car. To reach the hotel with the car at first was a bit confusing but a staff member directed us to the garage on the basement.
Our room was a bit small but very comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was great and service excellent. The location was fantastic, 5 minutes walk to the market place and other sights. Plenty of restaurants around. Highly recommended.

Dear reet02,
Thanks for your review, we really value your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed yourselves in Mercure Budapest City Center. We are also more than happy to read your positive experience about the location and hotel overall. Due to that our hotel is the only 4-star hotel in Budapest being surrounded by walking street from all sides and it is now a reconstruction work in the area, means bit a complicated parking. We appreciate that you would recommend us and we are looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September. Hotel is well located with restaurants, bars, buses all within easy walking distance as are some of the historic sights. We found the hotel staff very helpful and polite, our room was quiet and rather small, the bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water for the shower. Plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast, one morning we had to queue but the staff did all they could to sit people at tables as soon as they could. Drinks are expensive at the hotel so find local bars where they are much cheaper. We noticed that service in coffee shops and cafes can be rather slow and not all meals are served at the same time! Good way to get around is to buy a 2 day ticket for the hop-on, hop-off bus. The views from the castle are absolutely stunning and should not be missed, as is a river cruise on the Danube.

Room Tip: Internal view rooms are small but quieter. They are perfectly adequate and comfortable and even hav...

Stayed for 5 nights, October 2013 with my wife. Check in and check out was done quickly and reception staff were very friendly, with good english language skills. The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting tourist attractions and local restaurants. The only downside was the size of the bedroom is a bit small for the size of the bed making movement around the room limited.

this hotel is very well situated on the pedestrian mall and is very handy for walking to the various sites of the city. We arrived early and were able to check in well ahead of time. Staff were friendly and courteous and assisted willingly with requests. Breakfast buffet was adequate but nothing really special. Rooms are our but very clean and presented well. Beds are comfortable. We would use this hotel again if we were in Budapest. Price is reasonable.
