I had a very pleasant time in this hotel just before Christmas. First of all its position is excellent. Just near a metro station, so you can get anywhere in very short time. Very nice room, nice staff, good service. Good breakfast and especially excellent coffee. In the neighborhood very cosy restaurants. A few steps away from Vacy utca. Definitely I recommend and I will return with pleasure. Do remember that Budapest is a special and beautiful city this time of the year.

I stayed at the Korona hotel with my wife and my daughter. The hotel has a western European standard with very proffessional staff and good facilities. (e.g. free wifi in the room, small swimming pool and Sauna, Ironing room etc.) We stayed in a standard room on the third floor. The room was sized for business travellers and would have been better to stay in a larger room with an infant. The swimming pool is excellent fun with a child however it is too small if you would like to exercise. The hotel is 10mins walk from the famous Vaci street, around 5mins walk from Raday street which has a good selection of restaurants and approximatel 25mins from the airport in a cab. (cost 6250 HUF app. 17 GBP). The underground station (Kalvin Ter) is right next to the hotel, so there are easy links to other part of the city.
The buffet breakfast (continental) was excellent, with a good selection of bread, bakery products, corn flakes etc.
Overall we really enjoyed staying in this hotel, but if your are travelling with family I recommend to book a larger room if possible or stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: As this hotel is in next to a busy junction I recommend to stay high up in the hotel. (quiter)

After arriving at the hotel the checked was a bit messy because we where with 10 people. Despite all of this the employee stayed friendly. All of the staff were friendly but a bit "cold".

When I entered my room I immediately opened the window because there was a mouldy smell. After a few minutes the smell was gone but every time I entered my room the mouldy smell was back and I had to open my window for a few minutes. Besides the smell the room it looked clean, although there was carpet on the floor.

The bathroom was small but had a bath / shower combination. The shower wasn't that good because it was to low for me to stand under it normally. Also when using the shower, the whole bathroom floor gets wet because of the spray of the shower that goes all directions.

The beds are ok, but the length is a bit short and I'm of average length. Because of this I woke up a few times with cold feet.

Breakfast isn't very special but a bit pricey, especially for Hungarian standards. There a more then enough places around the hotel that offer cheaper and much better breakfasts.

This hotel also had a swimming pool which I used once. The dressing room also smelled mouldy and there were signs of mold in the corners. The swimming pool was a metal casing which felt a bit strange. Despite this, the water temperature was good and there was also a staff member available for help if you had any questions.

Room Tip: Don't use the breakfast, use nearby restaurants

Stayed the first week in November 2013, the staff were helpful and spoke excellent English while the room was comfortable if a little small. Dined in the restaurant on the first night & the food was excellent, breakfast every morning was fine.

The best thing about the hotel is it's location, across the road from the bus, tram and underground station, a short walk from the Danube and city centre and plenty of restaurants. Turn right out of the front door and you'll find a beautiful square will restaurants only 100 metres away.

Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel only because our touring company chose it for us. It was the worst of the six hotels that we stayed in during out 19-day trip. The room was small and had little light, which is not a big deal. I am writing a negative review because our room reeked of mildew. As soon as we entered each time we were overwhelmed--particularly my wife who has allergies. The hotel staff was insensitive to our concerns. I do not fault them for their inaction. I suspect there was no alternative because every room stunk, for our fellow travelers complained similarly.

On a positive note, the hotel occupies a prime location within walking distance of the National Museum. Metro line 3's entrance is about 30 feet from the main entrance, and there is a tram line stop across the street. Costes, one of Budapest's two Michelin rated restaurants, is also located across the street.
