“Good location but nothing special”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

After arriving at the hotel the checked was a bit messy because we where with 10 people. Despite all of this the employee stayed friendly. All of the staff were friendly but a bit "cold".

When I entered my room I immediately opened the window because there was a mouldy smell. After a few minutes the smell was gone but every time I entered my room the mouldy smell was back and I had to open my window for a few minutes. Besides the smell the room it looked clean, although there was carpet on the floor.

The bathroom was small but had a bath / shower combination. The shower wasn't that good because it was to low for me to stand under it normally. Also when using the shower, the whole bathroom floor gets wet because of the spray of the shower that goes all directions.

The beds are ok, but the length is a bit short and I'm of average length. Because of this I woke up a few times with cold feet.

Breakfast isn't very special but a bit pricey, especially for Hungarian standards. There a more then enough places around the hotel that offer cheaper and much better breakfasts.

This hotel also had a swimming pool which I used once. The dressing room also smelled mouldy and there were signs of mold in the corners. The swimming pool was a metal casing which felt a bit strange. Despite this, the water temperature was good and there was also a staff member available for help if you had any questions.

Room Tip: Don't use the breakfast, use nearby restaurants

Stayed the first week in November 2013, the staff were helpful and spoke excellent English while the room was comfortable if a little small. Dined in the restaurant on the first night & the food was excellent, breakfast every morning was fine.

The best thing about the hotel is it's location, across the road from the bus, tram and underground station, a short walk from the Danube and city centre and plenty of restaurants. Turn right out of the front door and you'll find a beautiful square will restaurants only 100 metres away.

Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

The bedrooms are comfortable but a bit small. However while the staff is very correct in doing their jobs, they remain correct and cold.A small thing but a bit discomforting. The daytime bell man was very helpful with info and advise

My wife and I stayed in this hotel only because our touring company chose it for us. It was the worst of the six hotels that we stayed in during out 19-day trip. The room was small and had little light, which is not a big deal. I am writing a negative review because our room reeked of mildew. As soon as we entered each time we were overwhelmed--particularly my wife who has allergies. The hotel staff was insensitive to our concerns. I do not fault them for their inaction. I suspect there was no alternative because every room stunk, for our fellow travelers complained similarly.

On a positive note, the hotel occupies a prime location within walking distance of the National Museum. Metro line 3's entrance is about 30 feet from the main entrance, and there is a tram line stop across the street. Costes, one of Budapest's two Michelin rated restaurants, is also located across the street.

A very well presented hotel. First impressions were very positive. A modern and welcoming reception with an immediate and warm welcome from the staff. The reception desk team were outstanding. They all spoke perfect English and were immensely helpful. When we needed those little bits of information that make a stay more enjoyable they were there to help. We could not fault the front desk service.
Our room was adequate but not outstanding. Unfortunately the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied prior to our arrival and was full of used sanitary applications. That said the bin was emptied everyday afterwards so that was probably an unfortunate oversight.
The room however was small with not much wardrobe space so we had to part live out of our suitcases. The room was also very dark. The only lighting in the room was 2 bedside lights and a desk lamp. On the plus side the room was clean and serviced daily but the bathroom supplies and refills for the coffee/tea making were meagre and not really really adequate (no coffee replaced one day for instance. )
The breakfast (which was included in our deal) was very good with good choice and efficient service.
We used the restaurant for dinner one evening, which was very well presented, excellent food and perfectly served.
The free WiFi was good, a little patchy at times, but caused no problems, other than needing to go through the sign-on procedure every time.
The hotel is very well situated with bus, tram and metro immediately outside. The city centre is in walking distance. There are some good local restaurants around the hotel if you want to eat out.
For the price we paid this hotel was very good value.
The best part of the hotel? Without a doubt the friendly helpful staff.

This hotel is a well located hotel at a reasonable price. Small spa (access included in the price of the room. breakfast overpriced and not great, would recommend the Cafe Alibi just across the street dirctly in front of the main entrance. Helpful reception staff and a small computer area with free access.
Overall a great hotel.
