“Excellent Hotel”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

This hotel is 'creme de la creme'! We had a superb room with a breathtaking view of the Danube and the Castle.
Hotel staff are friendly, informative and helpful, giving immediate attention to any request we made.
The breakfast choice is excellent, cereal, porridge, fruits, omelettes freshly made, cold meats, rolls, bread and a whole host of other scrumptious delights ...well worth adding breakfast to your stay!
There is a free pool with sauna and steam room.
Beauty treatments are available, but they are a bit expensive for what is on offer!
The hotel is very near the centre of Pest and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants.
There are plenty of bus trips to choose from and they are all located near the hotel, it is an ideal way to look around this lovely city and see for yourself what delights can be found.
We would highly recommend this hotel, and would be happy to visit again.
Have to say we were surprised wi-fi was not free, but there were plenty of places around that offered free wi-fi.
We arrived via the shuttle bus from the airport, door to door service cost us around £26 for the return trip, arranged at the airport afer our flight.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river when booking

Brilliant hotel, very clean and the beds were really comfy, great loaction for viewing the gorgeous city, well worth staying in, confused there was no free wifi, a taxi even passed us that had free wifi but not the 5 star hotel we were staying in? Go figure! Other than that, faultless! Highley recomended.

We have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel, which provided a city centre base close to all key tourist attractions and transport links. The hotel looks out over the Danube from the 'Pest' side of the city, taking in views of the Chain Bridge and the Castle in 'Buda'. Rooms are spacious and well equipped with tea / coffee and bar fridges; guests have access to pool, spa, sauna and steam room. Breakfast is very expensive, however snacks are reasonably priced and are served in the lovely ground floor lounge area. Excellent service throughout our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the river side have the views, although there is a small charge for these. The higher the...

Beautiful hotel right on the river....very close to all the sights...a very easy walk over to Buda.
Very clean hotel with an excellent breakfast....anything you could possibly want. We were met at the train station and were checked in quite quickly.

Room Tip: Chose the back side of the hotel...quiet....and didn't spend much time in the room...so much to...

Our check-in experience at the InterContinental (in a very nice riverside location) was excellent. Upon arrival, our cases were collected, we were then escourted to the check-in desk where upon handing over my loyalty and credit card, I was thanked for being a member of their Ambassador loyalty programme and for choosing to stay at their hotel.

We were upgraded to a nice River View Suite (as a Royal Ambassador level member benefit), which was all ready and waiting for us for a 11am check-in, along with a welcome platter of fruit, wine and 4 bottles of water. We also paid 70 euro extra per night to secure the additional Club level benefits of Lounge Access, Breakfast, All Day Snacks and Evening Alcoholic Drinks.

I spent 4 nights in this hotel with my husband and 2 year old daughter. It was a perfect choice! We were warmly welcomed and upgraded to riverside room (without asking). The room was beautiful, spacious and clean with magnificent views, comfy bed, pillows and towels. The breakfast was just excellent (ranks in top 3 in my personal hotel breakfast list). Swimming pool & sauna area was serene and relaxing. The hotel location was excellent: few steps from public transportation, riverside, shopping street, sights... Everything that matters within walking distance. Cannot really find any faults. Simply great choice for exploring and enjoying Budapest city.
