Travelling with a friend I stayed for three nights on a points stay as a Radisson Rewards Platinum Member (formerly Club Carlson Concierge). The hotel had given us an upgrade on both rooms which was very generous so we had one double room with a balcony and a larger queen room with fully opening full length windows - a sort of indoor balcony. Both rooms overlooked the Danube and the views were simply stunning. Buda is the quieter side of the city and sitting out in the sun was a pleasure.

The bed was one of the most comfortable that I have ever had in a hotel. The room was air conditioned and I found it very effective even though the outside temperature was around the 25c mark during the day.

The bathroom was standard hotel functional with a full size bath and a good effective domestic style shower that could be adjusted in terms of height and the handset lifted off. These are the best, easiest to use showers in my view. Towels were changed every day regardless of whether you left them in the tub or not. Elemis toiletries were a nice touch.

Housekeeping do clean every day but it was the least intrusive hotel housekeeping I have ever encountered. In most hotels you arrive back to find all of your possessions have been tidied, your toiletries and toothbrush rearranged in the bathroom and things moved to meet the hotel’s view of how the room should be presented. Here if you leave your chairs a particular way and stuff lying it will be where you left it when you get back. Personally I like that!

An inclusive breakfast is one of the changes Radisson have made to the Rewards programme and a very welcome one. The breakfast was of a very high standard for a hotel of this type. The cold buffet selections in particular were very good. The chefs were constantly refreshing the buffet and clearly took a great deal of pride in their work. We were very impressed.

Budapest is a very big city and places of interest are spread out so staying on the Buda side of the river may mean that you do a lot of walking. If this is too much for you there is a tram terminus and a metro station a very short walk away.

All of the staff that we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful with a sincerity that is refreshing. The hotel booked our taxi back to the airport for us on our last day and allowed us to use the facilities to change and freshen up after we had checked out. It’s worth knowing that the taxi price mentioned when you book is an estimate for an average journey and not a fixed price. We travelled during evening rush hour and the journey took 30 minutes longer than predicted and was obviously a bit more expensive. Make sure you plan to allow enough time and funds if you will be travelling at a busy time of day.

In the ordinary way I tend to choose the Radisson hotels over their other brands but the one in Budapest is currently undergoing a much needed refurbishment and so the art’otel looked the better choice. Very glad that we chose it and we would definitely return.

Hotel location is perfect. Right on the riverside.
Tram stops at the front of the building, subway station is 5 minutes walk (or 20 seconds tram ride).
Parking rates are little high ($20/day) but you get an underground heated, monitored parking spot, so it worth the money.
I had a riverview room which was clean and tidy. The style and the decoration were over my expectation.
TV channels are mostly russian and hungarian. They had only one english channel on the tv.
The A/C in my room was not really cold, therefore in the afternoon, the room was pretty hot.
Staff are exceltional. Friendly and helful.
Breakfast is excellent, like every cuisine in Hungary.
I absolutely recommend this hotel for every kind of visit. Business, vacation, families.
One of the best hotel I ever visited in Hungary!

The hotel is in a great location for walking to virtually all the main sights in Budapest. There are fabulous views of the river and parliament building from the hotel bar/ restaurant in particular. The room we had was spacious and spotless. The breakfast selection was excellent and the food freshly made. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The perfect hotel to explore Budapest. Would highly recommend.

Perfectly located hotel on the river bank with a beautiful view over to Pest, with the parliament house, steeples of cathedrals and churches and excellent buildings. Large windows open out to the river. Service good, breakfast very good. Recommended hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Danube River

Me and my sister stayed here for a long weekend in Budapest. The hotel is in a great location for all the tourist attractions. We only got public transport to go to the spa. The room was big however the bathroom was on the small side. The hotel has great decor. The breakfast is amazing with something for everyone. Would definitely recommend staying here.
