Stayed at the Kempinski for 4 nights in mid-March. Room (superior) was large and well appointed but too hot and with no complimentary water. Bottles of evian (750ml) were more than £5 a go so buy water from a local store. Also renting a film was £16 a go and the tv was mainly just news channels in english.

The breakfast and sunday brunch were superb however. Lots of choice of anything you could think of for breakfast! Get it included in your room deal though.

Spa was nice though things are a little more traditional even as a hotel spa so don't be alarmed if you see more than you may have expected of some people.

Location is excellent for everything though closer to the modern, internaional things than the traditional bars, cafes and restaurants.

All in all a pleasant stay but maybe too geared up for business clients. Free wifi very useful!

A good standard 5* hotel in a perfect location in Budapest. My boyfriend and I booked the Kempinski for a romantic weekend break. We arrived in Budapest on Saturday evening - we found the hotel very easily as it is so central. On arrival, the Concierge was extremely helpful - we asked him for a recommendation for an authentic Hungarian restaurant locally and he booked us one of the best tables in a fantastic local restaurant, which had a live Hungarian folk band. It was a great start to a lovely holiday. You can walk to almost all the main sites from the Kempinski, including Gerbeaud (a famous patisserie, just round the corner from the Kempinski, and definitely worth visiting for its cakes and hot chocolate!) Also try Gundel for brunch (again, the Concierge were very helpful in making our reservation). If money is no object, the Kempinski is definitely worth considering.

Excellent Accommodation and Service. Concierge actioned requests professionally and efficiently - allowing us to organise activities without the problems of language barriers.

Room to examplary standards as would be expected. Spa excellent and with good views over the city in the daylight. The spa is far superior to other similar hotels in the area.

Breakfast hugely overpriced - but is typical for this type of hotel. If you cannot get breakfast as part of room rate go elsewhere.

The hotel has an austrian/bavarian style bar to the rear of the complex. Nice relaxed environment away from the more formal hotel. Good starting point for a night out, or a refreshing drink after a days shopping.

Basic room rates can be very competitive, but be careful what is actually included - breakfast, use of the spa can be excluded.

From the outside the hotel looks the business. On previous trips to Budapest, I looked on with envy at the guests strolling in and out on to Dean Ferenc. So, upon deciding to make anther trip to Budapest I decided it would definately be the Kempinski this time. Upon arrival I was stunned to see the dated lobby. The interior is worn and needs refurbishing throughout. The building is 5star, the decor, the staff and the ammenities are 4star at best. It may wow the unexperienced traveller, but to someone who knows and appreciates truly 5 star facilities, it was shambles. The staff were reluctant and the atmosphere was a zero. Please I beg you, if you are going to Budapest, skip the Kempinski, save yourself some money and go directly to the Corinthia Grand, which really is what it is billed to be; a 5 star, deluxe, luxury hotel.

The hotel is very large, but offers a nice warming place to stay. The location is great due to the fact that it is in the center of town and close to the walking areas.
Free WIFI is a nice plus these days.
Price of food and beverages on the other hand are way to expensive! Not worth paying so much money for a bottle of water or a cup of coffee!

This Hotel has a great location, in the centre of Budapest. It is modern, very clean and bright. The design of the Hotel, although modern ,already looks dated with lots of brass & glass. The staff are not warm nor helpful, except for the occasional Receptionist or one member of the Concierge team. Breakfast is good with a great selection, but again it is all self service, therefore the staff believe that they should not help you in any way.
The biggest bug bare is the cost, this is a very pricey Hotel, with a lot of hidden charges.
I would recommend although be careful of the views, the Hotel is circular & you can get a view of someone's room, if you are unlucky!
