We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, the location was perfect, great views of the Danube and Parliment and sunset! Great location and easy walk over the bridge to Pest, the staff couldn't have been nicer, we got an early check in and the room we requested. The rooms were very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made dinner and taxi reservations for us. If we went back to Budapest this is where we would stay again. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Try and get one of the rooms with a balcony

We stayed at the Victoria for 4 nights at the end of October/ beginning of November, 2011. Essentially, I can find nothing but high praise for the Hotel Victoria. The location/ view is fantastic; for us, it was a perfect location and I doubt the view can be bettered. Rooms are comfortable, quiet and clean and breakfast is fine.

However, what really made the trip special was the kindness, knowledge and the attentiveness of all of the staff; I can understand how some reviewers have referred to the hotel as being a ‘home from home’.

Effectively, I would recommend the Victoria to anyone travelling to Budapest. But better than that, having spent 5 days walking the streets of this amazing city, I doubt we could have been fortunate enough to have found a better base!

So, stop procrastinating, book the room and enjoy Budapest!

Room Tip: As far as I could see, all rooms are street facing with a direct view of the Danube and the Parliament.

We spent only 1 night here, but it was wonderful. We were situated across Danube from the Parliment building so the scenery was Awesome. When we looked out our window on the Buda side, we could see all of the spires of the cahedrals and castles. The Staff was excellent and the food at breakfast was plentiful, varied and all good.

Room Tip: Ask for a river side room for the best possible view.

We loved staying at this hotel as it was walking distance to the Chain Bridge and Castle Hill incline. As we only had 2 1/2 days, the staff helped us tremendously with their suggestions and booking the rivercruise, Legenda, for us. We ate at Sailor Inn, 2 blocks away, which was excellent and bountiful portions. The breakfast at Hotel Victoria was plentiful with eggs and omelets to order with a buffet of fruits, and breads. We had a huge corner room overlooking the Danube. The bathroom was modern..all was clean. Loved our stay. The staff held our bags until the evening as we had an overnight train to Krakow.

It was our 15th stay in Hotel Victoria; we come back here many times every year!
We are always very satisfied with this hotel its staff and services. This is why we don’t understand the last two tripadvisor comments and their “problems”…
The view is unbeatable especially in the night.
The rooms are absolutely clear and large with huge comfortable beds.
The breakfast is delicious with hot fresh made dishes to order.
Very friendly and professional staff, always ready to help.

Victoria is a small familiar hotel with no huge areas so it can happen that you have to wait 10 minutes for an available breakfast table, but only in the busiest period of breakfast time.
Recommendation: try to avoid the last 15 minutes of breakfast time.

We highly recommend Hotel Victoria for everybody and we will always return!
