“Excelent accomodation for short or long stays”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

The location of the hotel is excellent, the staff is always helpful and eager to make your stay the most enjoyable one.
Rooms are spacious and perfect for a good night sleep or to rest for some time during the day.
The quality of the towels can be improved, as they are slightly thin and small, so larger, thicker towels would be recommendable.

Stayed 4 nights (Friday - Monday) at the Mamaison Hotel Andrassy and we were very pleased with the hotel. We had booked as part of Jet2 holiday and checked in about 8:30pm - throughout the whole of the stay the staff were polite, friendly and very helpful - a credit to the hotel. We had a deluxe twin room on the 4th floor - it appears according to the floor labels, 2 and 4 are non smoking. The room faced over the front of the hotel but with the double glazing was very quiet spacious (high ceilings) - it had a bathroom with a shower as part of the bath which worked perfectly - plenty of hot water and lots of toiletries replaced every day. The only minor complaint is that the towels were rather thin - not luxury towels (I'm not a towel expert) they worked fine though but considering the attention to detail, decor and fittings seemed a tad disappointing. There is even a balcony with a couple of chairs and a table if the weather was nice. Good sized room safe and easily accessible sockets for the inevitable charger(s)

Breakfast was part of our deal and yes you had to pay extra for different coffees (but as I don't like coffee so that wasn't a problem) and tea, and filter coffee was available (first one served when you checked in a breakfast after that coffee seemed to be help yourself from the front of the room). There were fruit juices on the bar - its a european breakfast so cereals, croissants, pastries, breads meats fruit (possibly cheeses) but more than adequate

No tea or coffee making facilities in the room (you can ask for a boiler i.e. kettle) but I think it may be extra for tea and coffee supplies (but don't quote me)

We found the location of the hotel very good (it felt safe walking back even at midnight) and a 15 min walk to a large collection of restaurants /cafes at Liszt Ferenc tér on the same side of the hotel (heading down Andrassy)

cant say about public transport as we walked everywhere but there were metro stations nearby

would we stay there again ? absolutely without hesitation

Room Tip: 4th floor room was very quiet in the room we were in

Would recommend the Mamaison Hotel in Budapest. Lovely hotel with excellent staff located in the embassy district not far from Heroe's Square. We were upgraded to an excellent room. We ate in the hotel on the first night and the food was delicious. In fact, it was the best meal we had in Budapest. Loved the city did the hop on and hop off bus which was great even included a free river trip. The thermal spas are something else. We did the one not far from Heroe's Square which was great. Would certainly stay at the hotel again.

Went to Budapest for the Marathon. The Hotel was ideally situated for the occasion in an embassy neighbourhood close to the Heroes' place, and everything was excellent,
at a reasonable price. I will stay here again - Marathon or not.

Excellent hotel and we got a "bargin price" as some of the rooms were reduced. A little traffic noise from the road outside, but this was not of any great inconvenience. Rooms were a good size and well stocked and furnished.

Our only comments was that breakfast at an extra 17 euros each was expensive. So we had breakfast away from the hotel.

Metro on the door step, but close enough to walk into town if you wanted, about 15 mins.

Room Tip: If you can book at the back on down the side road away from Andrassy Avenue

Hotel was very nice, quiet and clean. hotel room was very well sized with plenty of room, was a superior twin, nice comfy chairs, balcony with table and chairs, fridge and well stocked mini bar with reasonable prices .Nice bathroom impeccably clean.
Staff very courteous and helpful, arranged airport transfer, tram billets etc.
breakfast was very good although was included in price of stay so can not comment on the fact that the stand alone price was prohibitively high according to some.
Good location with enough bars and restaurants within a short walk away.

Husband and I got this hotel cheap on a last minute deal, both feel we would have happily paid full price as the staff were attentive and helpful without going over the top, the cleanliness was superb. We were upgraded from a standard room, a nice suprise especially as the room we got was more like a suite, very spacious with a huge bathroom, fantastic shower. We had a small balcony which had the sun most of the day, lovely for a drink after seeing sights all day. Very modern and clean, looked like the advertised photos, a rare thing! Excellent location, right on top of the metro, less than 5 minute walk to Heroes Square and the park. Only down side was we had to pay for tea making equipment so didn't bother and went round the corner to a little cafe.
