I fell in love with the city from the view of my hotel room. It's like living in a fairy tale.

Everything in the city is so expensive and everything is charged. The staff is very friendly. The concierge desk i snot that informative. They have a nice fleet of Mercedees as taxis.

The room and amneties are just too good. The best part is the night make up of room which leaves chocolates on your pillow. mmmmmmm!

Stayed for two nights on a conference and impressed with the hotel. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. If you are lucky to have a room with a view it is amazing. looking over the Danube at the Parliment building. They have sympathetically built the hotel around a 13th Century Dominican cloister and Monastery. It is in a historic area which seems safe to wander around and is picturesque with the architect. Little cafes and tourist shops nearby. They are cobbled streets.

I stayed for three nights at the hilton hotel in the castle area of budapest and found it a very good hotel overall. The foyer is large and open and the staff had us checked in and up to our rooms in no time. The rooms are spacious and well fitted out, although i will say they are very dated. This is not all bad as although dated the hotel is exellently maintained and it does give the hotel a certain charm and is less clinical than some of the newer hilton hotels. The bar is well stocked and the staff are exellent although you do pay for this in the drinks prices. Breakfast is well presented but will not be to everyones taste, the new breakfast room was due to be open the week after my visit so this will only further improve service.

Positionally the hotel is fantastic, position right in the centre of the castle district with views of the river to the rear and all over the city it is only a short walk from many of the historical buildings. Ashort walk down the hill takes you down to the river and crossing one of the bridges into the city is easy, a taxi back is an advantage. Be careful with the taxi drivers as the same journey cos 7 euro in one cab and 27 in the next although after an argument he exepted 20, but still a rip off!

Do not let this put you off a great hotel and interesting city.

I stayed at this Hilton property in the castle district for 5 nights and it was GREAT! First, it is nestled above the city in the castle district, historic old buildings, churches, museums, and more. If you like walking, this is a great property for you as you can walk to many places nearby which really gives you a nice feeling for the area!
The service was superb! Everyone spoke fluent English and seemed to go out of their way to help! If you can get a room on the executive floor it is well worth it as the breakfast buffet is great and open bar at night is even better.
The rooms could certainly use a make over but they were clean and certainly well cared for.
The only downside with this property is getting back to it. I actually climbed all the steps everyday to get back to my room from the bottom of the hill which will take your breath away (literally) but the exercise is good. Otherwise, you will need to take the tram/lift or a cab which can add a cost to your trip.
If you like history, great views of the city and River Danube, culture, and tiny cafes then this is the place for you!

The Budapest Hilton is a first rate hotel. The concierge staff are extremely helpful and they all speak English very well.
The hotel is chic in a 60s Hitchcock (Think "Torn Curtain") sort of way. Clean and sleek, it sits atop the Castle District offering the most fabulous views of Pest and the Danube.
The restaurant is very nice, but a little pricey if you don't have a deal that includes breakfast with your room -- which we didn't.
The only complaint is the bed. It is hard as a rock and wrecked our backs. By the fourth night, it was a serious problem. We were icing and popping Advil like candy.
That's the only reason I gave the room just three "dots", because the rooms truly are lovely. If you like a really firm bed, then this may be for you.

We stayed at the Hilton Castle Budapest for 3 nights in April with our two children under the age of 7. We received a good deal with breakfast for 4, a great view, and upgrade to the executive floor for 119 Euros a night. This has to the best deal in Europe for a Hilton. We were greeted at the door by friendly bellhop who escorted us to the executive lounge for a splendid check-in. It was quick and effiicent and we received a ton of great tips on the city of Budapest. The executive lounge was the best we have encountered in Europe with respect to service, tips on the city, tours, trains, etc. etc. From the executive lounge to the front desk to the bellhops to the service at breakfast, I cannot rave enough about the incredible service.

The room was clean, comfortable, and a roll-away bed were quickly brought into it as requested. However, the executive floor had a mix of smoking and non-smoking rooms so we did dedect a faint smell of smoke in our room. The best part of the room was the views of the Danube and Pest -- perhaps the best views from any hotel we had ever stayed at. The only negative of the room was that the air conditioning was not working very well and it was a heat wave in Budapest for April -- around 75 F or 24 C. We live in Paris without airconditioning so we are use to it (but in Paris we can open our windows)-- so I wonder if they haven't turned on the AC yet as many hotels do not before May 1st.

Breakfast was excellent. Again the service was outstanding. It was a good mix of European and American food.

We loved the castle district and it was no problem to get a taxi or walk to Pest. I would highly reccomend this hotel, especially due to the price/value ratio. It is worth the extra 30 Euros a night for a Plus room with the views. We definitely will stay there again on another trip to Budapest.

Hilton Budapest is one of the most sceneic hotels that I have ever visited. It is situated in the old part of the Castle on top of Buda hill, giving a fantastic veiw of the city and the Danube river. The location and view are breathtaking and the Castle walls and its ramparts provide one of the most beautiful settings that I have ever seen. The rooms are very quaint and beautiful, with adequete facilties. Service quality is very good. The bar and the resteruant is exceptional and the conferencing facilties are exceptional. The price was not too bad given its location and access to many historic sites in the vicinity. It forms a part of the Unesco work heritage site. recommended for any purpose
