Just back from a 4-night stay at Hotel Ambra, which I enjoyed very much. The hotel is clean and comfortable; the breakfast buffet is extensive; the reception staff are welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is in a good location, but your slumbers might be disturbed by local revellers, particularly at the weekend.

This centrally located hotel is on the Pest side and within easy walking distance to the Opera House, Andrassy Blvd., the Jewish Quarter, cute shops and good restaurants. Rooms are spacious and have a wall of glass affording light and an open feeling, even if you are overlooking the street. Breakfast was included and was very satisfactory serving cereals, fruits, eggs, pastries, juices and a make your own cappucino machine. Snacks and juice are available all day. The staff at the front desk appeared to be "in training" although they tried to be helpful. The main negative was that room service did not occur until very late in the day, often just when we were resting or getting ready to rest. We utilized their transportation from the train station; the driver was very accommodating even stopping along the way for an ATM.

Stayed in this hotel for three weeks. Quite adequate hotel for the price.

Location is convenient – at the walking distance from the very center of Pest. The main transportation hub – Deak Ferenc ter, where all three subway lines cross, is very close. The main drag - Andrassy ut with the Opera house is in the direct vicinity. The neigbourhood itself looks a bit abandoned and shabby, but it’s a historical Jewish quarter, so all three synagogues of the city, including the second biggest in the world Great Synagogue, are just few steps away.

Superior room on the second floor was spacious, even if simplistic, with a big fridge which is even equipped with a freezer. As the street is narrow and the building across is close, direct sunlight barely shined into the room, so it was never too hot inside. Avoid higher floors, though, as wi-fi is weak there.

Breakfast buffet is fairly reach, with everything you would expect from a four-star hotel – cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, flakes, different pastries, several sorts of juices etc, and always included some Hungarian specialties to try.

Any time during the day you have access to a coffee machine, tea making facilities and water with ice, which we used extensively during the hot days. There is no restaurant in the hotel, though.

Sauna is available for guests free of charge.

Service is friendly, we were especially impressed by booking manager Judith Kiss, who was indeed incredibly helpful.

During our stay we encounter one major problem – at some point wi-fi essentially stopped working in the entire hotel, and when we were leaving after a few days, it was still not fixed. Several days without wi-fi access strongly spoiled overall good impression of the hotel.

Little hotel in the heart of the city, you get everything what you want for example hairdryer, lot of lights in the room, tea, coffee and lot of pillows.

The hotel is near the Oktogon or street Andrassy where you can take a walk or go to the Opera House. If you have a car will be complicated to cruise near the hotel, little streets and a lot of pedestrians.

Our first impression was that this hotel was located in a bad part of town, but that proved wrong when we started to walk around. Its a five minute walk from the Opera House, and 15 minutes walk from the Cathedral, and a little further to the river.
The hotel room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom. The whole place was clean and well kept. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The Hotel is situated right in the location of where you would want to be as a tourist. It's not particularly attractive on the outside but we were not bothered at all when inside it's bright, functionally modern and impeccably clean. We booked a triple family room as we took our daughter along with us. Our room was huge! The only reason why the ;sleep quality' rating is less is because of the noisy fridge sometimes kept my wife awake. We could have complained but we felt that they were all so nice and the noisy fridge was so minor. The Staff were excellent. They're polite, friendly and cannot do enough for their guests. The breakfast room is bright and airy and the food on offer was more than expected in relation to the price charged. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there is a dispensing machine in the lobby which was available free of charge 24hrs. They even leave out complimentary snacks. If I returned to Budapest this would be the only place I'd go to. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is a little bit hidden, but near a very popular and touristic street. The rooms are spacious and clean, and I liked the window wall is fully made of glass, which allows good natural light. Ok breakfast, but not extremely diverse. Staff was friendly and helpful, but my request to put together the two single beds with a top matres, as in my reservation, never happened. In the end it didn't matter that much. I would probably choose it again.
