“Friendly staff but just about ready for a refurb”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Well located on the Buda side of the river (however you would be better staying on the other side in Pest) just below the Castle and close to the Chain Bridge (very pretty especially at night when it is floodlit). The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are all friendly and helpful especially the reception staff. My wife and stayed for five nights with two other couples and had a twin room on the first floor it was a reasonable size and was clean, the bathroom was adequate except the shower was very low on the wall and lacked power. The pillows were very soft and we had to request additional ones. The room was looking tired and like the rest of the hotel needs a complete refurb in the near future. Breakfast was good except that the hot selection of scrambled egg and frankfurter sausages got a bit monotonous after five days!! The hotel does not offer any meals apart from breakfast but there is a very good value restaurant (Pater Marcus)at the bottom of the steps. The hotel is located on a slope with steep steps leading to it. All in all a good value hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located at the foot of the hill of Buda, 3minutes the Chain Bridge. The rooms are adequate and clean, but the bed duvet and pillow deserves to be changed (strong smell), breakfast was plentiful and good, the reception staff is uneven. There are lots of nice little restaurants around the hotel, less touristy than the other side of the Danube. It is recommended to ask for a room with number superior to “x08” (208, 308 etc ...) to be on the garden side.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's a nice little hotel in a great location. We had a twin room on the fifth floor. It was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was working well.
Breakfasts were good, and they very kindly provided me with gluten-free bread. All staff were friendly and were happy to help with any questions.
I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is rated with four stars on most sites. I felt that the staff were very unfriendly and not very welcoming at all. I know their English may not be excellent, but a smile is comprehended in all lanaguages. They were generally helpful but not not very friendly. The rooms were immaculately clean and had excellent facilities. The hotel entrances is located on a hill, which mean you either have to descend or ascend steps to get there- this is very inconvient for a four star hotel- expecially with luggage! Location is pretty central ot both Buda and Pest!

Selected this hotel for its location which was just around the corner to the chain bridge. Located in quiet alley. We had room facing the alley and it was very quiet. No noisy street nor any disturbance from the hotel itself. Rooms were quiet - small. There was a safebox included in the room which is always welcome to keep your money and valuables.
The hotel does changes if you request. I changed our two-separate-beds to combined for no extra cost in booking.com's website. Three nights for 231 eur.
Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy. Coffee, toast, cereals, yoghurt, sausage, eggs, rolls, croissants, fruit...you name it. No fresh juice though. Only concentrate and not 100%fruit.
Staff was friendly and the breakfast room was tidy and ran out of nothing.
You can reach the castle hill just around the corner. There is the rail-elevator (1000florint).
We used no public transportation from the hotel because of the central location. Check google street view.
We took the shuttle-taxi from the airport and reserved it back too - everything online for the
prize of 7911HUF. No problems.
We left our luggage for the last day in the hotel's custody and came back to change and use toilets. No problem then either.
Rooms had air conditioning and they were tidy. As a matter of fact this hotel had the best pillow for me. For some reason this was perfect:).
Room had automatic shades during the sunny period so you could not take pics from the window.
The voltage is lower than in Finland so my tablet charger did not show it was working but succeeded to charge anyways.

Room Tip: We had room right beside the elevator but the elevator bell was covered with plastic. Not much noise...

+ Location. ok breakfast.

-
The parking is 15euros and then you have to give your keyes away since the garage is so small they have to have cars parked behind eachother so the staff has to move cars from time to time.
Some of the staff was very arrogant and rude. i would try another place.

The location is perfect, walking distance from tourist sites and attractions, only stones throw away from Fisherman's Bastion/Matthias Church and the Chain bridge and the Castle/Palace area...
While on the other side of the bridge, location makes you cross it and enjoy the view every time. Our room could have been bigger, but was comfortable anyways. Service was exceptionally hospitable, buffet was good too...
Some things do not remind a 4 star standard, but that is true for many hotels in the region, everything else pays for what's missing...
