Excellent service, excellent breakfast buffet and centrally located so within walking distance of many sight seeing musts. The tram stop is just outside the hotel so travelling to other areas of the city is easy. Many local restaurants are close by.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors with a view of both left and right of the Danube. The lower floo...

I use to live in Budapest, Pesti Barnabas utca.

Destiny had it that after living in Budapest for over 5 years i moved away to another country, i promised to stay in touch via work but for one reason or another it took me almost 10 years to come back to the country that i love so much and had fond memory of.

And whatta better place to stay than the first place i stayed years ago on my first night in Budapest.

And it's a step upward and as usual with majectic view of the Danube.

Awesome

Looking at this hotel it seems out of place being a great concrete building on the bank of the Danube however once inside it is really excellent.
All the rooms have a view of the river and the location is really good being directly opposite the castle area with great views up and down the river and very central.
You can walk everywhere from the hotel or just sit on the front terrace and take in the views.
We had an Executive room which was very well fitted out and gave us access to the lounge on the 9th floor which served snacks all day and free wifi.with complimentary drinks in the evening.
This hotel is 5 star but unlike some others lived up to the rating having been refitted recently.
Marriott hotels tend to vary in quality sometimes but this one was excellent.
Like a lot of European Marriotts it is well populated with American tourists who generally are very nice people!
We ate in Peppers one night which was above expectation.
There are many restaurants very close to cater for every taste and price.
This hotel is not cheap but represents good value for money.

Room Tip: If within budget go for an Executive room which gives access to lounge

I recently spent a few days here on a business trip and was so impressed I am planning to come back with my family. My room had a wonderful view of the Danube and Buda, was a good size and very comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was included and very good. Best time for me was sitting in the evening sunshine, outside in the bar area, sipping wine and watching the boats on the river - lovely!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

You will have to think beyond first impressions when you arrive at the Budapest Marriott. It is a nondescript building with minimal character. Step inside and the place is much more appealing with nice lobby seating areas and restaurant area.
All rooms have a view of the Danube and this is the primary reason you would want to stay there. Lighting on the bridges at night make it magical. Additionally we found the hotel quite convenient for walking excursions into both sides of the city. Rooms are small but typical for hotels in Europe and beds were comfortable. The dual glazed windows keep the noise out which is important given its location.
Breakfast is a bountiful buffet and weekend packages tend to include it in the room rate.
Free WifI in public areas.
Would stay here again,,,other choices for a similar price but this location can't be beat.

Budapest for tourists is a walking town and this hotel is ideally located for walking everywhere or catching a tram, a bus, or a boat. The communist era hotel is updated on the inside and the staff is professional and friendly. You are paying for the location as much as the accommodations and we got our money's worth.

Room Tip: Some weekend nights in the summer, the "bar boats" are quite loud in the early AM.
