I stayed in this hotel last December while the Christmas market was on. It is an ideal location for the market and the hotel was beautiful. Beautiful views, fabulous rooms and breakfast was excellent. We took a train from the Airport into the Hotel. I would just warn anyone doing this to be v careful, make sure that you click your train ticket on the platform. We were told that the machine wasn't working and just to go ahead onto the train with our ticket (not clicked) we were stopped as we exited the train by two staff on the platform who tried to make us pay a huge fine, although our tickets were valid. We felt the whole thing was a scam, they were watching for tourists and we refused to pay. 11/2 later we left the station, without paying the fine. I would definitely get in touch with the Hotel prior to arrival and ask them to send a taxi to the Airport.

This is a typical American style hotel with everything you expect of such a hotel. The room had a lovely view and we were delighted to be able to open the window a little for some fresh air. Good breakfast buffet. Meals were expensive, but we enjoyed our lunch there. Very helpful staff.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. It was our first time in Budapest and we just thought all hotels in this city were comparable. Let's just say it was adequate. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, and we got to try "native" delicacies. The staff was very polite...main staff spoke English, housekeeping barely. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. We never heard the tram...no noises at all. Of course, we were stuck with minimal available TV channels.
HOWEVER, the Danube River views out of our room window were magnificent. The Buda Castle was gorgeous day and night. The Chain Bridge was wonderful.
If you want more luxury, there are other options, but for the sake of convenience and comfort....this was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view

Our second stay in past 2 years. We returned because we like the location, brand and staff of the hotel. Very professional staffing and covers your every wish. Close to restaurants and metro with plenty of city activities for walking. Great views of Buda Hills. Will return again in 2014. Hard to match this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

Perfect place to relax and hide. Rooms are of a high Quality with the expected extras. The Breakfast buffet is best in town. Hotel is a full service hotel with gym and spa. Only down point is the garage charges.

We spent four nights at the Budapest Marriott. The rooms were Marriott quality and the people at the front desk were always polite and helpful. We had access to the executive lounge on the 9th floor due to my husband's gold status. That was wonderful because the lounge has an outdoor terrace with the most gorgeous view of the Danube and the city, all lit up. Couldn't be beat! The breakfast in the lounge was very nice, lots of options. The Marriott is well-located and you can walk to just about anywhere. There is also a subway/metro station very close. We really enjoyed our stay at the Budapest Marriott and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a high floor with a castle view. It's so beautiful at night.

Excellent location, superb views and very helpful staff but bathrooms now need revamp. Also I booked a suite and 3 exec rooms for a 21st birthday celebration and requested they be located together. Unfortunately our suite was on first fool and rooms on 7th. Our suite also was a smoking room but hotel could not move us despite booking 5 weeks in advance and being told then that we would be together. Rita the receptionist was very pleasant but I got the impression that we had been bounced by big conference delegates .
Despite above we had a great stay with afternoon cake buffet to die for !

Room Tip: Great corner suites but ask for higher floors and non smoking
