Our second stay in past 2 years. We returned because we like the location, brand and staff of the hotel. Very professional staffing and covers your every wish. Close to restaurants and metro with plenty of city activities for walking. Great views of Buda Hills. Will return again in 2014. Hard to match this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

Perfect place to relax and hide. Rooms are of a high Quality with the expected extras. The Breakfast buffet is best in town. Hotel is a full service hotel with gym and spa. Only down point is the garage charges.

We spent four nights at the Budapest Marriott. The rooms were Marriott quality and the people at the front desk were always polite and helpful. We had access to the executive lounge on the 9th floor due to my husband's gold status. That was wonderful because the lounge has an outdoor terrace with the most gorgeous view of the Danube and the city, all lit up. Couldn't be beat! The breakfast in the lounge was very nice, lots of options. The Marriott is well-located and you can walk to just about anywhere. There is also a subway/metro station very close. We really enjoyed our stay at the Budapest Marriott and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a high floor with a castle view. It's so beautiful at night.

Excellent location, superb views and very helpful staff but bathrooms now need revamp. Also I booked a suite and 3 exec rooms for a 21st birthday celebration and requested they be located together. Unfortunately our suite was on first fool and rooms on 7th. Our suite also was a smoking room but hotel could not move us despite booking 5 weeks in advance and being told then that we would be together. Rita the receptionist was very pleasant but I got the impression that we had been bounced by big conference delegates .
Despite above we had a great stay with afternoon cake buffet to die for !

Room Tip: Great corner suites but ask for higher floors and non smoking

Or at least not up to the standards I have seen in so many of Marriott's international properties. First, the good news: great location, fairly priced, generous breakfast and evening snacks in the exec lounge. The bad news: room we had needs a good cleaning (hairs on the telephone, soiled information cards on the bedside table, moldy tiles in the bath) and the housekeeping staff does not seem to know what is what (e.g., when we arrived, the room had 5 pillows but by the time we left 3 of them had been removed by the housekeeper for no apparent reason). Overall, the front desk team was very good and the concierge was quasi-helpful (the "are-you-done-asking-me-questions?" look did not add to a positive experience). Friends staying at the similarly well-located Intercontinental raved about it; we just kept quiet.

Room Tip: All rooms face the Danube so you can't go wrong.

This was my second stay at the Budapest Marriott. I had an awesome view of the Palace in Buda across the Danube River. The room was very comfortable and the hotel offers great fitness facilities. Unfortunately when I went done to use the hot tub it was out of commission, however, there were two saunas. Breakfast offered has a great selection for all. Although free WiFi was available in the lobby, it would have been nice to have it available in the rooms. Many hotels offer this service, as well as many Marriott, so it was bizarre that it was no free here. The hotel is situated very close to many restaurants and lots of shopping, close to the market and within walking distance to many attractions.

Room Tip: River view is a treat.

We stayed in Marriott Budapest for only a day transitting from Vienna. First off, it has the best location, location, location. It is along the Danube River and the views from all rooms would be spectacular. Ours was of the Elizabeth Bridge and the Citadel. The associates are very helpful. The hotel is in the Pest side of Budapest. It is walking distance to almost everything recommended to see 1) the synagogue 2) St. Stephens Basilica, 3) Parliament 4) Chain Bridge (which we crossed on foot to go to the Buda side).

We took the train from Vienna and from the train station we just paid bus tickets. Took the M2 bus and stopped at the 3rd stop. Then we walked to the hotel. It is in the heart of all shopping and dining area in Pest.

Going to the airport was a breeze too. Make sure you ask front desk to assist you to get airport shuttle (shared shuttle ride) to the airport. Its only max USD 10 and very safe and efficient.

And PEPPERS - their restaurant/cafe is really good. We had sumptuous lunch and dinner there. They have an open kitchen which was excellent!
