“wonderful bedding”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

It is true this hotel has Danube views from all rooms. The best feature of this hotel was the bedding. It was so yummy, I didn't want to go sightseeing. The toiletries were good, I can't remember the brand. The room was good sized and nicely decorated. I agree with other reviews that the ottoman needed cleaning, I only used it for suitcases.

The buffet breakfast was fine, the dining area was very noisy. I suggest something to absorb the noise.

The location was very close to the Chain Bridge which made exploring Buda and shopping in Pest very convenient.

The biggest problem for me was that our room was not ready when promised We were told that it would be at least another hour and a half. As we had been walking through Budapest for several hours until we could have a shower it was a big disappointment.

Room Tip: Castle View and advise time of arrival so room will be ready

Hi

Spent four nights at the hotel returned on Saturday
from the comfy beds to the cake buffet brillent. I could not fault anything.Tthe hotel has amazing views, ask for a high castle view. The room snacks and drinks are pricey but it is 5 star.
Go and have a walk then return to the hotel bars music on every night.

Get a taxi from the rank outside the airport it is 6000 forints to the hotel book with the same company then it is 4000 for your return. we got 345 forints to the pound. Or you could book a shuttle book before you travel

Hotel staff are also 5 star

thankyou we will be returning

Room Tip: ask for a castle view

The views from our room were priceless. Beautiful buildings across the Danube. But the best views were the bridges at night. The hotel has a great breakfast buffet of made to order scrambled eggs, fruit, cheeses, pastries, and sausages. The room was very spacious. Great sized tub/shower, and big closet. The hotel was within walking distance to major bridges and the metro. Vaci street was close by which was enjoyable walking down especially at night. It is closed off to traffic. Also very nice quick stop grocery stores were close by.

The location of the Mariott can't be beat on the Danube with views of the Buda castle, for these two reasons alone I would reccomend the hotel. As for the hotel itself, if it were a few blocks away from the river it would be merely mediocre, but it certainly lived up to the standards that you would expect from a Mariott, no complaints.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the riverside, the views are to die for!

Very nice hotel in the center - both the castle/fisherman's bastion & the city center are at walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant a bit expensive but good quality. The rooftop lounge is very beautiful - good view over Budapest and friendly staff (be sure to ask the staff for a glass of wine if they already removed it from the "self service area" around 21:30). The breakfast in the lounge is of less quality than the downstairs breakfast, but still ok.
The rooms (stayed in multiple over four weeks) were clean - but the minibar was not always refilled and I had to request towels one day because the cleaing staff removed the towels but forgot to replace them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 7th or 8th floor just below the lounge, that way you'll have free wireless...

The Marriott Budapest is in a wonderful location, right on the Danube. Great views of Buda Castle. Very near many of the cities top sites. Decent night life in the hotel bar/restaurant. Down side was the cleanliness of the room itself. Carpet needed cleaned, shower curtain had mold on it, and there was a large stain on the ottoman. Would stay again, but definitely not 5 star.

The Marriott Budapest is located in the heart of the city center in Pest right along the Danube river. We had a spacious room with a view of the Danube River on the 8th floor. We opted for the Executive Room which includes access to the Executive Lounge, it was worth the money!. It includes Breakfast daily, snacks all days long, free Wi-Fi, and starting at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. they start serving Hors d'oeuvres and Open Bar, from variety of Wine, Beer, and Hard Drinks The view from the executive lounge on the 9th floor is spectacular! It's a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. You can watch the river boats or look at the Beautiful view! The people working at the Executive Lounge were very friendly and helpful.
The beds are very comfortable and I like the fact that I have my own robe and large towels unlike other European hotels. Each room has its own A/C which is not as strong as I would like it to be, but it was bearable since we were there in June and the weather was still tolerable. I strongly recommend Marriott Budapest!
