“Splendid!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

My husband upgraded to the executive club, and it was fantastic. Very pleasant, helpful staff, great breakfast buffet - they had for instance milk, all kinds of juices, sparkling water on small glass bottles AND Champagne (or brut). NIce rooms, new bathrooms. A little outside the city centre, but right next to the train station with trains running all the time, so we thought it was great! Im not a big fan of carpeted floors, but it didnt bother me. We only tried out the free pools, none of the treatments. But it all looked really nice. We definitely recommend the hotel!

Room Tip: Executive club

Booked executive room which gives all day access to the club room which provides all day drinks and snacks. However on the first day it was 33degrees Celsius outside and the had the heating on in the club room! Couldn't sit in there nor could anyone else. The club hostess said she would call engineering but nothing was done to fix the problem. At breakfast the following morning I complained once again and the technician finally fixed the problem.Second night the air conditioning in our room failed .they couldn't fix it and at 10pm offered us another room.we weren't packing up at this time of night.we just had to swelter. Very nice pool complex with two thermal pools.rooms very clean with good housekeeping.Although next to the Danube it's an hour walk or a train ride and metro change into city centre.Mainly used by bus groups.Might be ok for winter stays but you can't fry in the summer.

It was my 4th visit to Aquincum Hotel in Budapest. As always room was clean and spacious. Very convinient meeting rooms in the hotel save time for trainings/conferences participants. I liked the gym and pool a lot. You could have a run on a treadmill and than cool down in a nice swimming pool (however a bit to short) and sauna. The food is a class of its own. I could not resist amazing goulash in various options and tasty deserts.

I just returned few days ago from Aquincum hotel in Budapest. I really enjoyed the stay. The Staff is quite friendly. Rooms nice and spacious. Hotel is just in front of the river so you can make good city walks there. The spa is nice and spacious with thermal waters going into 3 pools. Internet access is free in all hotel with good accessibility. Price was very affordable for location and standard was quite ok.
The things needing improvement are: lack of ATM in Hotel (you need to walk about 10 minutes to closest one), had some challenges with hunting for food during breakfast (at 8 am most of food was gone :) and there are some strange procedures in place - when you order massage in SPA you need to go up 1 floor to reception to pay for it and then come back with the check to them. Also the reception floor is most of the time occupied by some business desks, which shows a bit crowded atmosphere.

Room Tip: choose river front rooms to enjoy nice view of the city.

Very nice hotel great service. But the pools are awesome. We did not expect them to be this great. Location is right on the river and next to the bus and subway. We are coming back here. The restraunt are ok but the rest of the package makes up for it.

This is a nice enough place but it is NOT five star. No one greeted us or helped us with our bags on arrival, the booked 'king bed' in our room was obviously just a double (with two single blankets), room service menu was extremely limited. Every thing else was fine but not of any really high standard.

We had a 3 night break here and would recommend it as facilities excellent, staff helpful and friendly and the breakfast fantastic.
Yes you have to get a train into the City, but its easy and quick , and quiet nice to stay in a quieter location.
