The electric car. Massive fun for 4300 HUF/hour (c.15 Euros). We went here as part of the hop on-hop off cruise deal and also enjoyed the petting zoo and tranquility.

Margaret island
(Margitsziget) called the playground of the city, this island, it is forbidden for cars, has everything you need to enjoy a day of relaxation. Here we have a sports stadium, numerous tennis courts, swimming pools outdoor, open-air theater, a rose garden and a Japanese garden, the remains of the early Middle Ages, two hotels with thermal water and shelter for the beer.
Complete relaxation you can experience the Margit island, walking many parks, watching the fishermen or just sitting by the fountain, listening to quiet melodies of Liszt.

Visited in July, it was very hot and we wanted to make the most of the weather. Visited Margaret Island with my Husband and we had an enjoyable day.

The queue was not too long after we go off the bus. We entered and went to the little window on the right hand side to get a safety deposit box for our valuables, watches and rings etc. if we had thought further ahead we should have left these in the hotel safe. It was a little odd to be given an old wooden draw to but our belongings in but the system seemed to work and gave us peace of mind.

We walked through the complex of pools to try and find a nice spot with a bit of shade, it was 37 degrees so very hot! We found a spot and got some loungers off the piles that were dotted around, some people were just sitting on their towels on the grass etc but the loungers were only about £2 for the day so we thought they were worth it. Staff come round throughout the day and take the money for the loungers and give you a ticket, if you have already paid earlier, you just show your tickets when they come round.

We enjoyed the size of the pools and range, this is not a spa but more like hydro pools with jets and water fountains and pools of differing temperatures, our favourite bits were the very small whirpool in the middle of the jacuzzi pool which is activated every half and hour or so, it is very fast and fun. Also the wave pool where the waves come on once an hour for about 15-20 mins. It would be better if the wave pool was more often. People had balls and toys in the pools, there was enough space without upsetting other people.

We had cocktails from the bar which were delicious and reasonably priced - would recommend.

The actual complex here is quite old, the toilets need a bit of a makeover and the changing rooms are not very well lit etc but we knew this in advance, we were glad of somwhere private to change after a day in the sun and this suited us fine.

I would recommend this day out to anyone in Budapest at this time of year it is fun but based on other reviews take your own food in, we had some crisps to keep us going and take some flip flops if you have them.

It is accessed by a bridge with the same name. This is a lovely park on an island in the middle of the Danube. It's a great place to spend a couple of hours cycling, walking or having a picnic. There are several places to rent bikes on the island. You can stop for a coffee, watch the runners ... great on a hot day.

Take hiking shows and access the Island from wither end. Situated in the middle of the Danube it offers a canopy of majestic sycamore trees, an urban zoo, a senic tour, a monastery, massive pool complex in summer, monuments, fountains, and spectacular views of the City. Urban parks are common but this ranks as one of the best I have ever seen. There are "small trains" to help you get around and bike ways bit it is Not accessible by cars. ( without a permit). For the runners in the ctoud there is a massive rubber track that goes around the circumfrance of the island.
