It was a surprise for us to find this cafe in the old seat of the Hungarian Stock Exchange. Szamos marzipan is one of my favorite sweets, so I had high expectations about the cakes.
The atmosphere and the decoration of the place is great, reminded me of a fancy salon from the beginning of the 20th century.
The prices seemed to be reasonable and were a big relief after Gerbeaud. The only nuisance was the 15% service fee, which came to us as sort of a surprise as the cakes already have two price tags: one for take away and a higher one for local consumption.
The look and the richness of the taste and the texture of the food was perfect! We had a hot chocolate and a slice of "turogomboc" cake. The composition of the cake was creative and unique whilst the chocolate was high quality and was served in a nice way.
The place also had a chocolate manufacture part where you could watch (and possibly learn via a course) how to make chocolate or bonbon.
All in all, we recommend the place!
