Near our hotel and we sat outside as we were very lucky with the weather. Enjoyed espresso and lovely chocolate cakes. Our daughter enjoyed the thick hot chocolate and an elderflower drink (and of course cake). The service was great and the waitress took time to explain the various types of cakes. The inside cafe is beautiful and chocolate courses can be booked on line. We thought the prices were very reasonable.

i have to be honest... i do not drink english tea or coffee!!!

with an hour to burn before our taxi was due to pick us up from KFC on vati utca, we decided to go to the *square* for a drink

thinking szamos was *really expensive* due to the layout, we was about to walk off when we looked at the menu and prices...

my husband and friend both drink coffees

i ordered a goulash soup, then we had 2 honey coffees and a laite

the menu had a huge choice of drinks...great if your a coffee lover

the cakes also looked amazing...but i dont have a sweet tooth

also they do alot of ice cream sundeas

my goulash soup came out... compared to the one we had a casablanca (which is a tourist trap) it wasn't as nice!! it was more of a chinese ox tail soup... the taste was too familiar, and i thought *is this their goulash soup???* nothign special
however it was very generous with the meat

my husbands laite came out, it was a expresso with hot frothy milk
our honey coffees came out as well... presented very beautiful

it tasted very good... then after about 3 mouthfuls... i said to my friend... is it sweet or is it me???
she said it was very sweet as well... dont get me wrong it was very nice...but its one of those drinks the more you drink the sweeter it gets

bill for 3 coffees and a goulash i think was about 3300

less than a tenner BARGAIN!!!

i would come back, i would recommend, but its only got a averge rating due to the disappointment of the soup and the coffee being rather sweet

Had lunch today at the Szamos Gourmet Place. A great experience. A beautiful place in the center of the city. The food was good, the service was good, and the place was decorated in a great style. We could even watch the chocolate being made along with cakes. Lots of other things to buy as well besides lunch. I want to go back for a breakfast sometime soon.

We stopped at this cafe for a quick lunch. The service was good and all waitresses spoke very good english. We had just simple things: sandwiches and cakes and some coffee with lemonade, but everything was very fresh and well presented. I especially recommend thier strawberry and ginger lemonade. Looks very home made and delicious. Would definitely stop at this place again for a quick lunch
