Description: Családias éttermünk a múlt század közepének ódon hangulatát idézi, a belváros szívében, a Duna-parttól egy sarokra, a Sörház és Molnár utca sarkán, a Váci utca tőszomszédságában található. Éttermünk kizárólag vacsoraidőben tart nyitva, keddtől szombatig, 18:00 órától 23:00 óráig. Minden hétfőn és vasárnap zárva vagyunk. Borlapunkon a magyar borászok remekműveinek adunk otthont. Családos vendégeinket kizárólag a gyermek 7 éves korától tudjuk fogadni. Megértésüket köszönjük!

What a great restaurant.
We arrived early evening whilst the restaurant was quiet and had the undivided attention of the owner / chef and his family. We had a taster starter of mixed traditional Hungarian platter with three different 'creams'. Delicious. This was followed by Chicken Paprika then Floating Islands to finish.
The food and wine were excellent.
The service was impeccable and nothing was too much trouble

On 3 evening each week there are three musicians (violin, double bass and cymbalom) who were very professional and played with feeling. This added to the atmosphere and the setting.

The final bill was very good value for money. Choose this restaurant and I am sure you will be very satisfied.

My boyfriend and I had visited a few lovely restaurants during our stay and wanted something equally as nice for our last night in Budapest. We seen the reviews on here and weren't disappointed. The chef/owner/waiter was lovely and couldn't do enough to help. Good was gorgeous and the Hungarian wine was delicious and cheap!! The restaurant has a lovely feel and despite thinking there was a live band every Friday and Saturday and there wasn't the night we visited it was still nice and they had music from the band playing in the background. It's a shake the restaurant was so quiet when we visited as it was just a perfect find-great food, service and value for money. A perfect end to our stay.

We ate here on a Tuesday night after trying on Monday (to find it was closed-warning, as we didn't realise).

We had a shared Hungarian starter which was very tasty! Then we had paprika chicken and the leg of duck.

Couldn't have fit a desert in unfortunately due to the large portion sizes.

Very tasty Hungarian food, would definitely recommend to others!

Don't be fooled by its name - this is a great authentic Hungarian experience! The food was very good, the wine selection was true Hungarian, the band - absolutely terrific! What can I say? Don't miss it! The entertainment - both musically and by the staff made the evening! So friendly and proud of their heritage and so willing to share. The whole restaurant gets involved in the fun - the good times are just contagious. "Eat, drink and be merry" - good words to describe Chef Cafe!
