Description: Családias éttermünk a múlt század közepének ódon hangulatát idézi, a belváros szívében, a Duna-parttól egy sarokra, a Sörház és Molnár utca sarkán, a Váci utca tőszomszédságában található. Éttermünk kizárólag vacsoraidőben tart nyitva, keddtől szombatig, 18:00 órától 23:00 óráig. Minden hétfőn és vasárnap zárva vagyunk. Borlapunkon a magyar borászok remekműveinek adunk otthont. Családos vendégeinket kizárólag a gyermek 7 éves korától tudjuk fogadni. Megértésüket köszönjük!

The restaurant is a block away from a main tourist street (Vaci Utca) but we found it by chance. ThIs is a shame because we would have been there more often if it had been, as it should be, on everyone's list. I relied on our server/manager to guide food and wine choices and they were
superb. The atmosphere was welcoming, the waiter witty and knowledgeable. A wonderful experience altogether.

The atmosphere of the cafe was good, and it felt like the food was made fresh. The staff was very friendly, and the combination of the carp fillet as a main dish and the vanilla custard as dessert was excellent. Highly recommend.

I have visited chef cafe three times already in different circumstances and I loved it every time!
It is small and refined without being pretentious, the atmosphere and decor is lovely, the service is great, and the food amazing. I like the fact that it has a small menu because every item on it is made with extra care. We have tried the duck, the catfish, and the steak-all excellent and from the desserts we have tried the souffle and the "lava" cake. They can suggest wines to go with everything you are having, and some nights they have live music.
It is not cheap, but it has a fair price for the level of service that it provides.

We stayed at the Bohem Art Hotel so this lovely restaurant was almost on our doorstep but for some reason we bypassed it each night. On our last night, we couldn't decide where to go and then we had a terrific thunderstorm with torrential rain so that helped us decide - which restaurant is the nearest?!

The restaurant was cosy and the staff very attentive and funny! We had a great time here, we felt safe and relaxed, we did not feel like we were going to be ripped off, the prices were great and the food was fantastic. I tried the ghoulash soup which was delicious as was the steak. I was too full sadly to have dessert but hubby did - and I helped him as we were very kindly brought two spoons and a taster slice of dessert so hubby could enjoy his all to himself. What a great idea! The Norwegian Coffee Cake was to die for and I was gutted I didn't order one to myself!

This was such a lovely place, I was gutted that we left it until last - we would definitely have gone back. What lovely people, you were so kind - thank you for a very pleasant and relaxing evening, our last one to leave us happy memories of Budapest :-D

One street back from the riverside this little secret avoids the crush of the tourists.

Small menu but all interesting. Attentive service with good selection of wines.

No hassle to free your table so you can enjoy your meal and relax with a book.
