One street back from the riverside this little secret avoids the crush of the tourists.

Small menu but all interesting. Attentive service with good selection of wines.

No hassle to free your table so you can enjoy your meal and relax with a book.

“Home in Budapest”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

We wanted casual but good restaurant after thermal bath without going back to the hotel to dress up but still feel trendy. Chef cafe was perfect, delicious and so friendly. Thank you for the care and we loved the evening!

“Loved it!”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

We found this by accident while looking for somewhere to eat on a very cold night. We had a wonderful waiter- very funny and helpful. We are still talking about the pumpkin soup which was the best I have ever had. Everything was excellent. What a pleasure!

“Brilliant gem”
Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

The chef cafe is perhaps not the easiest to find unless youre at the Bohem hotel, but is well worth the visit. The decor is great, the service warm and friendly, and the food excellent and keenly priced. We had some fois gras to start, which was superb, and my wifes main of pasta and cabbage just unbelievable given the simplicity of it. Would return in a heartbeat if i come back to budapest.
