“Enjoyable Dinner, Amazing Service Experience”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

The food here was very good....could have been warmer. There was some confusion regarding what was ordered but that was probably our fault....I definitely would recommend this little restaurant about 1 block from the Bohem Art Hotel.

I'd like to relay a remarkable example of excellent service. We enjoyed the wine that our server suggested and I asked if he could write down the specifics (vintage, etc). It was a busy evening and we left without getting this info. The next afternoon as we were walking by the restaurant, our server from the previous evening came running out and apologized for not giving us the specifics about the wine and told us that he had dropped off a paper with all the information about this wine at our hotel...We were dumbfounded! Sure enough, when we entered our hotel (Bohem Art Hotel), the woman at the desk handed me the paper that the server had left for us. Now, THAT is service.

“Food very tasty”

The food was very tasty. Prices very reasonable. Our waiter provided excellent service--although I can see how you could be offended if you didn't share his appreciation of his knowledge of food and wine.

“Delicious food, great wine and service”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Went to the Chef Cafe based on TripAdvisor recommendations from people who stayed in the Bohem Art Hotel, and ended having dinner there 3 times during our 4 night stay in the Budapest. Everything we tried was expertly prepared, presented and served. The recommended wine, Tokaji Beres Magita 2008, was so good, that we bought 4 bottles from a wine store on the Vaci Utca to take home. We tried other TripAdvisor highly rated Budapest restaurants, but Chef Cafe was the best.
