Neighborhood: District V / Inner City
Description: Located in the most peaceful part of District V in a small side street of Vaci Utca (Papnovelde utca 3.), BARBar Cafe & Chocolate is THE BEST chocolateria in this town! The owners, a young couple named Viki and Tomi, are very enthusiastic about the cafe and their aim is to make the guests utterly at home and relaxed in their cafe. The philosophy behind it is: using only high-quality ingredients for the preparation of coffees, lemonades and chocolates. For the chocolate drinks they buy real Belgian Callebaut chocolate (dark 70%, milk 47% or white 28% chocolate pastilles and not powder that is sued in most other Budapest cafes). The freshly made lemonade drinks (in ajam jar) are very refreshing on a sultry summer day. You can also have snacks, should you feel peckish: try the various spreads (aubergine spread, Italian pesto, spiced tomato cream). BARBar Cafe has laid-back atmosphere with warm colors and creative furnishing (refurbished Singer sewing machines serve as tables).

Life is too short to have anything but the best ... And the prices don't kill ! If you want to have a drink - head for this place right in the tourist district

We went to Budapest during a cold spell and it was great to get out of the cold with this little cafe. I had the Cardamom-Clove hot chocolate and it was so unique and flavourful. Definitely worth heading to for a break from being a tourist and feel like a local.

The guy who served me and my friend was really friendly and not pushy in the slightest like a lot of places are in foreign countries when it comes to tourists (which is fiine/understandable and whatnot)

I LOVE chocolate, and I loved the standard hot choc as much as the cinnamon one which I tried even in the heat of hungarian summer...

Wish I'd tried the lemonade :(
Sounds incredible

BARbar is a bit off the beaten track but well worth taking the time to find. They have a large selection of drinks that are all quite interesting. My husband had an iced coffee and I went withe iced chocolate. The iced part of the drink is ice cream that was just delicious. The texture and flavor was amazing. The decor in the bar is quite nice as well and makes for an interesting visit.

So glad we took the time to track this place down after seeing it mentioned on Trip Advisor. It's not something that one is likely to stumble upon given its location.
It was quiet but really nice atmosphere, good service, very friendly!
Got a jar of lemonade that was huge and packed with fresh fruits and ice. Delicious!
I visited on another occassion and indulged in the white hot chocolate - both things i thoroughly recommend!
