Stayed at the Residence Baron-Budapest 20/10/13 to 23/10/13.
The hotel is in a good location with lots going on nearby.
Found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Did not dine in the restaurant, but the breakfast was very good and varied with something for all.
A small and very pleasant hotel with good facilities and would return again if in Budapest.

The hotel arranged a very efficient pick up from the airport and reception was friendly and informative. Our room was a good size and well equipped - we booked the executive double. The bed was very comfortable. Rooms at the back of the hotel would be quieter although the hotel is in a quiet side street anyway. Breakfast was good with a wide choice both from the buffet and a la carte and the coffee was excellent. The sauna, small swimming pool with resistance jets to swim against and the spa bath were welcome after a day sightseeing. The hotel is perfectly located, very near the river and provided you book in advance you should be able to pay half the rack rate. Bring your own tea bags as you have to buy extras from reception!

The hotel arranged a pick up for us at the airport, very well organised and straight into our room on arrival. The hotel is very close to the market hall and is slap bang in the middle of town. Loved the local fish restaurant a block away. We were going on a river cruise so had a 5minute stroll to the boat from the hotel. All of the staff were extremely helpful and I would certainly go back on our next visit.

We loved this small hotel. The staff were wonderful especially Rene who worked in reception. The welcome and information he gave us on arrival was first class. The hotel is very central with lots of lovely restaurants near by. The market hall is in the next street, we visited around 10 in the morning as I'm sure it would become very crowded later on in the day. Take the city bus tour which is for 2 days and includes a sail down the Danube . Great value for money around about £13 gbp. The street at the side of the hotel has some lovely small quaint restaurants which were also great value for money. We were paying around £25 gbp for 2 persons, 2 courses and drinks. The weather report said 25c however we found it cold this time of year so for September I would recommend long trousers and a jacket . Overall a great city break and would definitely recommend Residence Baron Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 304 overlooked the street

I have reason to believe now that our taxi driver from the airport was driving like a lunatic to get us quickly to this super little hotel. It is very central, close to the river, the main street for restaurants, gift shops, etc., the indoor market and the tram stop.

All of the reception staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and I did wonder how I was going to manage on the narrower than average single bed but, I needn't have been concerned. It was so comfortable and the room (once the window was closed) was quiet, that I slept very well.

Although our shower room was small, there was space to put things and we had bathrobes each as well which was a nice touch. It was useful to have a television doubling up as a pc in the bedroom.

Good choice for breakfast and attentive staff. We also ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was of a good standard and, again, we had an attentive waiter looking after us.

Great value for money and have already recommended this hotel to friends and family.

Boutique type hotel that ticked all the boxes, location was spot on as it was based at the bottom of the main thoroughfare (Vaci utca), we arrived around midnight and were warmly greeted by the staff, once checked in the receptionist pointed us in the direction of a great pub around the corner (the for sale pub), ample breakfast, never used the restaurant or jacuzzi etc......

We stayed in the Residence Baron for three nights. We had a cozy room on the upper floor but it was plenty for us. The bathroom had all the usual things to make us comfortable. Our breakfast was included each morning and was a very nice variety of food that our group enjoyed. Our friends' luggage was lost by the airlines and the front desk staff was wonderful in making calls for our friends and tracking it down. Their assistance was invaluable! The location was great as it was near the indoor market, the main shopping street and the river.
