hotel was somewhat on the nice side. however, what was disappointing was they charged us 17 euro for a pick up from the train station and only 8 euro to drop us off again. the rooms are not as spacious but comfy enough... nice pool and sauna. Very close to the grand market. There's also a great thai restaurant right across the hotel, quaint and romantic. beware of scammers pretending to be policemen in the area.

Very enjoyable stay at the Baron, small boutique style hotel, central well placed location, close to many local restaurants and large chains ie-Hard Rock and TGI Fridays, also 2 mins from The Ice bar. Very high level of cleanliness. So why overpriced? The breakfast I felt catered for people who enjoy cold meats or fresh cooked eggs, if you enjoy fresh fruit forget it. The fuit was chopped up and always brown looked like it was a day old. I feel like I sound picky on this hoteL, I think with hindsight it was because I had booked us an executive room with breakfast, we paid approx £100 a night. I feel for what you got for this, bathrobes, a noisy jacuzzi bath and free internet tv which didnt work for the first two days it wasnt worth the extra. If visiting Budapest again I would recommend this hotel but to choose a standard room and without breakfast. The staff were friendly except a strange one upon leaving we requested they ring a taxi for us we passed over our fotaxi card we had received from the taxi station upon departing the airport to give us a discounted return journey but the staff refused to call them as they used another firm?? Never come across this before after just staying four nights with them.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room with a view of the bridge

Dear Oubliante,

Thank you very much for your detailed comment left on Tripadvisor. It has been our pleasure that you found us a good place to stay. I also would like to thank you for the compliments regarding our room amenities, hotel facilities and breakfast.
Let us mention that we provide to the executive rooms extended in room amenities such as more spacoius room, hydromassage bathtub, slippers, tea &coffee with daily refill and unlimited usage of both saunas of the wellness centre.
Thank you for your honest opinion concerning the breakfast. We already have done the first steps to improve this part of our service. We have expanded our supply with some more hot dishes, variety of cheese, bread and salads.
Concerning your taxi order, we are terribly sorry, it should have been a misunderstanding, as we would like to make all of our guests's stay comfortable.

We truly hope, in case you will be coming to Budapest next time, we can welcome you again and convince that it is the right choice!

Sincerely Yours,
Erika Kőrösi

It's location was perfect. Very near most things, such as shops, restaurants, clubs and especially the Danube River. Just a walk across over the bridge to the Pest side. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Internet-tv gratis,close the hotel is ICEBAR.HU:)Nice experience.
The breakfast included a good variety and fresh fruit.
Sauna and jacuzzi are gratis, but there was something strange in the water of jacuzzi(strange smells.

This is a lovely little hotel, which is away from the crowds, but an easy walk from many of the sights of downtown Pest. The concierge manning the reception spoke excellent English and could not have been more helpful, even offering to store our luggage after we checked out so we didn't have to drag the bag around all day. The room was beautiful and well equipped, with the most unusual lighting feature made from salt bricks. The room was well-insulated from external noise, and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent, with an enormous selection of buffet items to choose from. Altogether, this hotel was fantastic value for money and I can't wait to stay here again!

stayed for 3 nights in march, the hotel is exactly like the photos you see on all the sites so no suprises when you arrive, the front desk was always manned and all the staff very helpful and pleasant, had a superior room which was ideal for the time we were there, the free internet was great especially as there is a pc in the room so no need to take a laptop with you, breakfast was really good you had a small buffer with bacon and eggs and sausage with also a choice of cheeses and cold meat and also cereal, you could also get stuff made for you, there are restaurants and gift shops and also a 24 hour small supermarket within a few minutes walk, it was about a 30 minute walk to the chain bridge and over to the castle and district

I have a great experience with this hotel. We came there in couple to spend a winter weekend. We were positively surprised there. The hotel lobby is in pretty classic style, front desk staff veyr polite and helpfull. We were also surprised with quality of the room. There was a massage bathtub, bathrobes and coffe and teas facilities in the room. Breakfast was nicely set with selection of hot egg meals made fresh upon request. Service staff was also very friendly. I can recommend to book the entrance to the Spa Gellert or Szecheny directly at the reception, the cost is the same but you have a priority dest at the Spa so in higher season you avoid to stand a long queue. We didn´t have dinner there but we had lunch there becasue there was a special happy our. there is already pretty good value for money in their menu but with 50% off it was amazing! The food was nicely presented and it was obvious that the level of cuisine is pretty high there. The location is just in the end of famous walking street called Vaci utca. There is plenty of restaurants and cafe but it is worth to have lunch or dinner in the hotel, the cuisine is really fine there, not mentioned friendly staff again. We were told that the hotel was completly refurbished which is obvious. I really like this place and hope to plan another trip there.

Room Tip: the street is not noisy and without traffic, ask any room with hydromassage bathtub, thjis is really...

I found this hotel on agoda for a very good price (around 50€/night, incl. breakfast). It is a small new hotel, very clean and the personnel is helpfull and friendly. The room was furnished with a good bed, a safe, a minibar and a computer with TV and internet on it. The bathroom was also well equiped with a jacuzzi, blowdryer etc.
The breakfast in the morning was good with friendly personnel. Recently the hotel opened a small wellness department, with a plunge pool, hot tub and a sauna. I think you can also have a massage there.

The location is very good, at the end of vaci utca near the big indoor market. On the other side of the bridge is Gellert Hill. The metro and trams are just around the corner.

We enjoyed some great restaurants in the immediate neighbourhood, like Italian Trattoria, Borsso and Dionysos.

So If you are looking for a comfortabel, friendly, well equipped and good located small hotel that is really value for money, do not look any further!
