Fantastic hotel, fantastic food in Siddhartha restaurant, great room, wonderful location BUT dark. Had a hard time matching clothes and socks in the darkness. Bring a flashlight.. Otherwise, fabulous!

Room Tip: Get lots of windows.

Dear Blair,

Thank you for your review and I am glad to hear that you had a wonderful stay with us. The special atmophere of the hotel indeed brings a dim lighting as well.

Hope that you will return to Budapest soon and we will have a chance to welcome you back at the Buddha-Bar Hotel!

Kind Regards,
Eniko Bak

Arrived in this hotel with one day delay due to unforeseen circumstances; no problem. The hotel has a very good location and has an hop on hop off stop right in front. I also highly recommend the latter. Nice breakfast but could have more variation for that price.

Stayed at the Buddha for a long weekend break. The place is quaint trendy interesting , it has it all.the rooms have a 5 star feel. We asked to be moved to a lower floor which they did instantly throwing in some complimentary chocolates for the slight inconvenience.

Staying at the Buddha-Bar Hotel is highly recommended for anyone visiting this beautiful city called Budapest. Being here on business, it is so nice to come back to the hotel after a long day and find the balance again. Best of all, my colleague and I had the good fortune to have Andrea Halász as our waitress at the Buddha-Bar restaurant last night. Andrea epitomizes the values of the hotel; calm, classy, knowledgeable and professional. We followed all her suggestions and had a truly wonderful dinner experience from start to finish....the best service ever received in all our travels worldwide to date. Thank you so much Andrea! The food, wine and desserts all complemented each other like a well planned taste journey. I will always come back to this place whenever visiting Budapest.....satisfaction guaranteed!!

We stayed at the Buddha Bar for 4 nights and were very pleased with the service, the location and the rooms, in that order.

The service provided was exceptional, as the Concierge assisted us with everything we needed, including a medical emergency in the middle of the night. Thomas was kind enough to organise medical service and then went above and beyond and actually had someone sent to pick up needed medication from the drug store. Mind you, this was at 2am.

The Buddha Bar is located right in the middle of the Vaci, the touristy-shpping street that terminates in the great market on one end. It is close to the river and in a 30 minutes' walking distance of Buda Castle. In the area we found everything we wanted - restaurants, shopping, pastry shops, ice cream...

Below the hotel we always found taxies. However, to turn around into the inner city these taxies had to make an alarming run around under the main street which in the first time gave a distinct feeling the driver was taking me to see his childhood street.

The room is well equipped, designed beautifully in red and black. The minimalist design still leaves plenty of room for storage and the room is equipped with a nespresso machine with three cartridges. A tea set is available on demand. If you want it restocked be sure to explain to the room service that you already have a tea set and just want tea bags.

Even though the room is comfortable, it also feels a little cramped. Windows open out to the street or the backstreet and generally let in the city noises along with fresh(er) air.

The bed is a comfy-hard spring based mattress with really big pillows. A pillow menu is available. The shower is actually a large bath with a rain-head and a modern-designed handle which is not really convenient for use.

The first time you sit on the toilet, you will hear a "ding!", do not be alarmed. That is your friendly toilet seat warmer and entertainment system. The toilet has a few surprising options for the untested traveller. Use with caution.
