Owner description: The Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum is a thrilling, unique and moving place. Visitors can learn about the WWII and the 1956 revolution as well as the Cold War in relation to this former TOP SECRET nuclear bunker. It had an important role during the war and it was classified until 2002 and opened as a museum in 2008. The place ensures a real time warp into the past. Mobiles are not working inside. Do not expect a regular museum. One hour long tour departs every hour in English. Guide books are available in several languages. Unforgettable experience underneath the Castle Hill. The entrance is only about 5 minutes walk from the famous Matthias-Church of Buda Castle.

This is a quirky place to visit with compulsory tours in English on each hour. The dummys add a bit of macabre to what is a very sad history connected with this place. For a UK'er it gave some insight from the other side of the WW2 conflict.

This was a good museum tour and the tour guide was excellent. The museum and exhibits were good however, a tip for EU tourists - take a passport and you will get a discount, unfortunately we didn't have ours with us so we had to pay the full price.

It was worth a visit if you like exhibits (wax people etc...) and a tour guide as opposed to a self guided visit.

You don't see a site like this in all cities you visit! The history is well explained. It is a little difficult to find but ask and locals will instruct you how to find it.

The guide was very good. You get a pretty good history lesson of what happened during WWII and after when the hospital was turned into a nuclear bunker. Probably more interesting for medical types but history buffs would like too.

Just amazing...the location and also by what the Hungarians were able to do in such small spaces. Lots of history! Loved it and not just because am a nurse :-)
